Determining paracrystallinity in mixed-tacticity polyhydroxybutyrates [PDF]
Recently, the authors reported on the development of crystallinity in mixed-tacticity polyhydroxybutyrates. Comparable values reported in the literature vary depending on the manner of determination, the discrepancies being partially attributable to scattering from paracrystalline portions of the material.

Isolation of Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) Producing Bacteria, Optimization of Culture Conditions for PHB production, Extraction and Characterization of PHB [PDF]
Polyhydroxybutyrates (PHBs) are energy reserves synthesized by different micro-organisms such as Alcaligenes, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus, Algae, in excess of carbon and limitation of nutrients like nitrogen.

Production of polyhydroxybutyrates and carbohydrates in a mixed cyanobacterial culture: Effect of nutrients limitation and photoperiods [PDF]
In the present study, different photoperiods and nutritional conditions were applied to a mixed wastewater-borne cyanobacterial culture in order to enhance the intracellular accumulation of polyhydroxybutyrates (PHBs) and carbohydrates.

Bioplastic Production by Bacillus wiedmannii AS-02 OK576278 Using Different Agricultural Wastes
Polyhydroxybutyrates (PHBs) are macromolecules synthesized by bacteria. Because of their fast degradability under natural environmental conditions, PHBs were selected as alternatives for the production of biodegradable plastics.

Monitoring PHB production in Synechocystis sp. with hyperspectral images
Microalgae wastewater treatment systems have the potential for producing added-value products. More specifically, cyanobacteria are able to accumulate polyhydroxybutyrates (PHBs), which can be extracted and used for bioplastics production.
