Synthesis and Selective Loading of Polyhydroxyethyl Methacrylate-l-Polysulfone Amphiphilic Polymer Conetworks

ACS Macro Letters, 2015
Polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate-linked by-polysulfone amphiphilic polymer conetworks of two types of segments with Tg above room temperature are presented. The conetworks are prepared by free radical copolymerization of methacryloyl-terminated PSU macromers with 2-ethyl methacrylate, followed by removal of the TMS protecting groups by acidic hydrolysis ...

Polyurethane/n-octadecane@silicon dioxide-polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate form-stable phase change materials with enhanced mechanical properties and thermal energy storage

Polymer Bulletin, 2021
A kind of polyurethane rubber (PU)/n-octadecane (n-OD)@silicon dioxide (SiO2)-polymethyl acrylate (PHEMA) form-stable phase change material (PCM) was fabricated in this paper. n-OD@SiO2-PHEMA microcapsules were prepared in one-pot, through interfacial hydrolysis polycondensation of alkoxy silanes and radical polymerization of HEMA.

Rapid hemostasis by nanofibers of polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate/polyglycerol sebacic acid: An in vitro / in vivo study

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2020
AbstractPorous nanofibers were prepared from a combination of polyglycerol sebacate (PGS) and polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate (PHEMA) and loaded with tranexamic acid (TA) using the electrospinning method. The nanofibers were optimized for their morphology, diameter size, porosity, TA loading, release profile and mechanical behavior.

[Implantation of modified polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate-polymethyl methacrylate keratoprostheses in rabbit and monkey corneas].

[Zhonghua yan ke za zhi] Chinese journal of ophthalmology, 2010
To investigate the biocolonization of polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate (PHEMA) sponge with cornea tissue and evaluate the therapeutic effects of modified porous PHEMA-PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) Keratoprostheses (KPro) on rabbit and monkey corneas. The KPro were made using two-stage polymerization combined with mechanical cutting.

Effects of pH, concentration and temperature on radionuclides sorption onto polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate-expanded perlite composite

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2012
Poly (hydroxyethylmethacrylate-expanded perlite) [P(HEMA-EP)], was synthesized and its adsorptive features were investigated for natural radionuclides (TI+, Ra2+, Bi3+, Ac3+ and Pb2+) in aqueous media at differing initial pH, initial radionuclides concentration and adsorption thermodynamics.

Analysis of polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate coatings on polyethylene terephthalate fabric substrates for cardiovascular prosthetic applications

2018
A small diameter cardiovascular prosthesis was developed that utilized compound coatings of a stable, three-dimensional, fluid-imbibing gel network having controlled and identified microstructure. Two types of polyethylene terephthalate (Dacron('(REGTM))) tubular substrates (USCI('(REGTM)) DeBakey('(REGTM)) Vasculour('(REGTM))-D and USCI('(REGTM ...

[Morphological validation of the use of polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate-based x-ray contrast emboli for vascular occlusion].

Biulleten' eksperimental'noi biologii i meditsiny, 1989
In the experiments on rabbits histological specimens with embolus radiopaque by iodides, bromides of silver and by (3-amino-2,4,6-triiodobenzyl) oil acid have been investigated 7 days after implantation. Optimum emboli were used in clinical practice during preoperative procedure for endovascular occlusion of liver and kidney arteries.

Controlled microstructure of two stage polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate coatings on polyethylene terephthalate substrates for potential prosthetic applications.

Scanning electron microscopy, 1980
Two types of polyethylene terephthalate (Dacron) substrates (USCI DeBakey Vasculour-D and USCI Sauvage filamentous) have been selectively coated with Poly-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (P-HEMA) in a two-stage process. Using scanning electon microscopy (SEM) techniques, the microstructural details of the fabrications were identified. The first stage of this

[A biocompatibility study and the effects of slow-release antibiotic materials in the treatment of periodontal disease. II. The biocompatibility and behavior of polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate (pHEMA) as a slow-release material for tetracycline of metronidazole. A study of 2 cases].

Minerva stomatologica, 1999
The study analyses the possibility of using polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate as a material for the slow release of antibiotic in periodontal pockets. The antibiotics examined were tetracycline and metronidazole. The aim of the study was to evaluate the biocompatibility of the material with periodontal tissue and the efficacy of the 2 prepared systems. Two
