Syntheses and application of polylactides

Chemosphere, 2001
Polylactides can be prepared by direct polycondensation of lactic acid, or better, by ring-opening polymerization of cyclic dilactides (usually called lactides). These lactides exist in the form of four stereoisomers two of which (L,L- and rac. -D,L-) are technically produced in large quantities.

Polylactides—an overview

Polymers for Advanced Technologies, 2014
Aliphatic polyesters derived from lactides of various configurations (LL, DD, and DL) are promising as materials not only for packaging and for production of many other commonly used polymer products but also for unique medical applications. This paper describes current situation in synthesis and major applications of polylactides.

Unusual Thermal Properties of Polylactides and Polylactide Stereocomplexes Containing Polylactide-Functionalized Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

Macromolecules, 2012
A novel and simple method for the preparation of linear, high-molar-mass, thermally stable polylactide stereocomplexes (sc-PLA) with multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) covalently attached to enantiomeric PLA chains is presented. The MWCNTs modified with organic spacers terminated with −OH groups were used as initiators for the ring-opening ...

Polylactides in channels

Macromolecules, 1992
The conformations of stereoregular poly(L-lactide) (PLLA, optically active) and regularly alternating poly(L,D-lactide) (PLDLA, optically inactive) confined to occupy cylinders of varying radii were determined in an effort to learn if either polylactide could be incorporated in the narrow channels of its inclusion compound (IC) with urea.

Synthesis of polylactides, polyglycolides and their copolymers

Clinical Materials, 1992
An overview is given of several polymerization routes of lactides and glycolides. Well-known in the literature are melt- and bulk-polymerization. These two polymerization types are discussed, showing that they have certain advantages and disadvantages. Less known are the solution and suspension polymerization of lactides and glycolides.

Expanding of polylactide

2016
Polilaktid (PLA) je termoplastični biorazgradivi polimer, pri čemu se proizvodnja PLA temelji na prirodnim izvorima kao što su kukuruz ili šećerna trska. Zbog dobrih mehaničkih i drugih svojstava (gustoća, prozirnost, barijerna svojstva) PLA je našao primjenu u industriji pakiranja (boce, kruta plastika, folije).

Antimicrobial polylactide

2010
Polylactide( PLA) is a biobased polymer which has created a lot of interest in scientific and industrial community due to its biodegradability and sustainable nature. It is a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester and can be easily spun into fibers and made into films.
