Sex‐Specific Regulation of Glycemic Homeostasis by Theabrownin from Pu‐erh Tea
Pu‐erh tea's key component, theabrownin (TB), lowers blood glucose in a sex‐specific manner. In females, estrogen boosts intestinal MUC2 production, which dramatically enhances TB's ability to inhibit the carbohydrate‐digesting enzyme α‐glucosidase.

Schematic showing a stretchable triboelectric nanogenerator based on interlocked wavy architectures that uses EGaIn microflower‐embedded PVDF‐TrFE and Nylon‐6 nanofiber membranes. The multi‐petaled, electron‐rich EGaIn microflowers enhance interfacial polarization and capacitance, while the interlocked wavy architecture enlarges the effective contact ...

(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...

Modulating the Swelling Behavior of Polymer Brushes via Interfacial Chemistry
Modulating substrate surface chemistry of surface‐grafted polymer brushes via variation of the chemical composition of spacers that anchor initiators for surface‐initiated atom transfer polymerizations allows to tune swelling of these thin polymer films.

A rotational energy harvesting device that successfully reconciles high power density with mechanical durability through a hybrid sliding‐and‐bouncing kinematic mechanism is reported. The success reported in our paper includes addressing a dilemma where enhanced electrical output comes at the cost of increased friction and wear, limiting the practical ...

Friction Between Polymer Brushes [PDF]
ABSTRACTA type of static friction between two polymer brush coated surfaces, resulting from fluctuations from mean field theory is found, but with creep-like motion for forces below the force of static friction, which is much more rapid than the usual creep between solid surfaces in contact.

DNA‐mimic for Specific Surface Functionalization of Zr‐MOFs for Bacterial Targeting
We introduce phosphotyrosine‐modified PNA as a superior, single‐step post‐synthesis surface coating for PCN‐222. The DNA mimic allows for controlled post‐functionalization with single‐stranded DNA for the attachment of protein moieties for bacterial targeting. ABSTRACT Nanosized metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are versatile platforms used in biomedical
