Bimodal Waveguide Interferometer RI Sensor Fabricated on Low-Cost Polymer Platform

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
A refractive index sensor based on bimodal waveguide interferometer is demonstrated on the low-cost polymer platform for the first time. Different from conventional interferometers which make use of the interference between the light from two arms ...

Flexible polymer waveguide tunable lasers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2010
A flexible polymeric Bragg reflector is fabricated for the purpose of demonstrating widely tunable lasers with a compact simple structure. The external feedback of the Bragg reflected light into a superluminescent laser diode produces the lasing of a certain resonance wavelength.

Characterisation of slow light in a waveguide grating [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A grating was defined in a silicon nitride waveguide, using a combination of both conventional lithography and laser interference lithography. The structure was optically characterized in the 1520 – 1560 nm wavelength range by combining transmission ...

Optical Amplification at 1064 nm in Nd(TTA) 3(TPPO) 2 Complex Doped SU-8 Polymer Waveguide

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
Nd(TTA)3(TPPO)2 complex (HTTA: 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone, TPPO: triphenylphosphine oxide) doped SU-8 polymer waveguide amplifiers were demonstrated. The absorption and photoluminescence spectra were observed on a 100-μm-thick film of the Nd(TTA)3 ...
