Prestressed polymeric matrix composites: Longevity aspects [PDF]
Elastically prestressed polymeric matrix composites (EPPMCs) are produced by stretching fibers (e.g., glass) within the composite during matrix curing. The resulting prestress can enhance mechanical performance, without increasing section dimensions or weight.

Composite Polymeric Films with Photocatalytic Properties
Polymeric films and in particular polypropylene (PP) films could be selected as excellent substrates for photocatalytic applications based on TiO2. However, hydrophobic surface of PP makes very difficult the adhesion of TiO2 particles on its surface. In this work corona pre-treated PP was used as a support for commercial TiO2 in order to remove organic

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The effects of nanoclay on mechanical properties of high density polyethylene and polypropylene materials [PDF]
Polymeric materials find usage in most places in daily life. Expected features vary depending on the use of these materials. Composite material can be formed by combining one or more different materials. Physical and chemical properties of a new produced

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
