Polymer Induced Bundling of F-actin and the Depletion Force

open access: yes, 2004
The inert polymer polyethylene glycol (PEG) induces a "bundling" phenomenon in F-actin solutions when its concentration exceeds a critical onset value C_o.

pH- and Reductant-Responsive Polymeric Vesicles with Robust Membrane-Cross-Linked Structures: In Situ Cross-Linking in Polymerization-Induced Self-Assembly

open access: yesMacromolecules, 2019
Polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) has been established as a powerful strategy for fabrication of polymeric nano-objects in the past decade. However, in comparison with the traditional self-assembly method, PISA is unsatisfactory in preparation ...

Stable and Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Anodes Via Interface Nanoarchitectonics for Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores Zn anode challenges in aqueous ZIBs, including dendrites, corrosion, and side reactions, and discusses strategies for improvement through Zn anode, electrolyte, and separator modifications to enhance stability and efficiency. Abstract Aqueous rechargeable zinc‐ion batteries (ZIBs) are emerging as promising candidates for next ...

Photoinitiated Polymerization-Induced Self-Assembly via Visible Light-Induced RAFT-Mediated Emulsion Polymerization.

open access: yesACS Macro Letters, 2019
Aqueous emulsion polymerization is one of the most commonly used techniques in industry for the production of polymer latexes. In this contribution, we present photoinitiated polymerization-induced self-assembly (photo-PISA) based on aqueous visible ...

Optimizing Angiopep‐2 Density on Polymeric Nanoparticles for Enhanced Blood–Brain Barrier Penetration and Glioblastoma Targeting: Insights From In Vitro and In Vivo Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Angiopep‐2 peptide density on polymeric nanoparticles significantly impacts blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration. This study explores this nuanced relationship using various in vitro models and in vivo assays, revealing that dynamic models better predict BBB penetration.

Spin‐Selective Anisotropic Magnetoresistance Driven by Chirality in DNA

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that magnetoresistance (MR) measurements carried out as a function of angular dependence between the magnetic field and a chiral (DNA) interface provide a valuable new insight into the charge transport mechanism associated with the chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect.

The septin cytoskeleton facilitates membrane retraction during motility and blebbing. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Increasing evidence supports a critical role for the septin cytoskeleton at the plasma membrane during physiological processes including motility, formation of dendritic spines or cilia, and phagocytosis.

Imaging of Lipid Droplets in Living Cells and Mice with Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease via a Galactose‐Modified Supramolecular Near‐Infrared Fluorescent Glycoprobe

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A galactose‐modified supramolecular near‐infrared (NIR) glycoprobe, TCF‐FBN@Gal‐BSA, enables targeted delivery to the liver through the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR) and facilitates liver‐targeting fluorescence visualization of lipid droplets (LDs) in metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) mice.
