Complex formation between polymethacrylic acid and polyacrylamide

Polymer Science U.S.S.R., 1982
Abstract Complex formation between polymethacrylic acid and polyacrylamide in aqueous solutions has been investigated by IR-spectroscopy and elemental analysis, and by viscometry and potentiometric titration. It is shown that, in terms of units of the polymeric components, a complex product of equimolar composition is obtained.

Fatty acid-based cross-linkable polymethacrylate coatings

Progress in Organic Coatings, 2018
Abstract In this paper, novel epoxy prepolymers from oleic acid-based monomers were cross-linked to prepare thermosets for coating application. For this purpose, methacrylate moiety was firstly added to oleic acid via Steglich esterification prior to conventional radical polymerization.

Kinetics of hydrolysis of polymethacrylic acid esters

Polymer Science U.S.S.R., 1975
Abstract Polymethacrylic acid esters have been used as examples in the development of methods for the preparation of stereoregular polymer models with a random distribution of units in the macromolecular chains, and these are used to determine individual rate constants reflecting the effect which adjacent units have on the reactivity of functional ...

Preparation of Polyvinyl Acetate Latexes Using Polymethacrylic Acid Surfactant Mixtures: Locus of the Polymethacrylic Acid

1980
Polymethacrylic acid functions as a protective colloid in the emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate, particularly in combination with anionic-nonionic surfactants. The combination of polymethacrylic acid and a nonylphenolethoxylate ester of phosphoric acid gives high-solids latex which shows excellent stability to mechanical shear and reezing-and ...

Spectrophotometric titration of polymethacrylic acid

Journal of Polymer Science Part C: Polymer Symposia, 1967
AbstractOptical density measurements were performed on aqueous solutions of polymethacrylic acid (PMA) at different degrees of neutralization with NaOH, both in the presence and absence of added Na2SO4; the wavelength region studied was 188–250 mμ. The data could be consistently interpreted in terms of an equilibrium between two conformational states ...

Immobilization of BSA on the polymethacrylic acid

2013 ICME International Conference on Complex Medical Engineering, 2013
N, N'-Methylenebisacrylamide was used as the crosslinking agent to prepare the polymethacrylic acid and its carboxyl groups were modified by N-(3-Dimethy-laminopropyl)-N'-ethyl carbodiimide hydrochloride and N-Hydroxy succinimide. The ability of immobilizing BSA and the influence of reacting time of carrier were studied.

Interactions between polyelectrolytes. DEAE‐sephadex–polymethacrylic acid

Biopolymers, 1963
AbstractThe interaction between a highly swollen polyelectrolyte and a polymer coil‐of low charge density was investigated. Diethylaminoethyl dextran (DEAE) and polymethacrylic acid (PMA) at low pH served as a model system. Distribution measurements of PMA between a DEAE resin and ambient solution showed that the interaction increased with pH (number ...

Adsorption of polyethyleneimine and polymethacrylic acid onto synthesized hematite

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2009
An influence of different functional groups of polymer, its molecular weight, polydispersity ratio (M(w)/M(n)) and presence of impurities on its adsorption in different pH values (3, 6 and 9) onto synthesized hematite (Fe(2)O(3)) was measured. A structure of adsorbed macromolecules of PMA and PEI was obtained according to S-F theory.

Stimuli Sensitive Polymethacrylic Acid Microparticles (PMAA) – Oral Insulin Delivery

Journal of Biomaterials Applications, 2002
This study investigated polymethacrylic acid (PMAA) microparticles for controlled release of Insulin in oral administration. The microparticles were characterised by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for morphological studies. The swelling behaviour and drug release profile in various pH media were studied.

PHOTOLYSIS OF POLYMETHACRYLIC ACID IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS

Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1964
The photolysis of polymethacrylic acid was studied in aqueous solutions as a function of pH, polymer concentration, polymer chain length, and small additions of electrolytes in the absence of oxygen with light of wavelength 2537 Å. The random chain scission constants decrease with increasing pH values.
