The Role of Porosity in SERS

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 34, December 2, 2025.
This review explores how engineered porous materials enhance surface‐enhanced Raman scatering (SERS) spectroscopy by synergizing analyte enrichment and electromagnetic field amplification. It is systematically evaluated four classes, nanoporous metals, plasmonic polymers, mesoporous silica, and metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), highlighting their unique

Functional Groups‐Driven Molecular Design for Broad‐Spectrum Clusteroluminescence in Scalable Monodisperse Polymer Microspheres

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study developed a scalable strategy for fabricating monodisperse cluster‐luminescent polymer microspheres via functional group engineering. The microspheres exhibit broad emission (400–700 nm) and low fluorescence coefficient of variation (CV < 3%), fulfilling requirements for routine flow cytometer calibration.

The thermal degradation of some polyelectrolytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
All naturally occurring polyelectrolytes are found in an aqueous environment and this feature directed most of the chemical research in this field towards an understanding of polyelectrolyte behaviour in aqueous solution.

Studies on the electrochemical properties of copolymers of maleic acid, I : potentiometric titration at low ionic strength [PDF]

open access: yes, 1960
In this series, the polydibasic properties of some copolymers of malefic acid are studied from the viewpoint of the neighbor interaction. In the present paper, the potentiometric titrations of two copolymers, malefic acid-vinyl acetate and malefic acid ...

Electrostatically‐Driven Collapse of Polyelectrolytes: The Role of the Solvent's Dielectric Constant

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 20, Page 4207-4218, 15 October 2025.
The structure of polyelectrolytes in solution is studied in media of low and high dielectric permittivity. For high dielectric constant solvents, repulsion between dissociated groups leads to extended conformations. In low dielectric constant solvents, attraction between condensed counterions leads to chain collapse, regardless of solvent quality ...
