Natural variation in abiotic stress responsive gene expression and local adaptation to climate in Arabidopsis thaliana. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Gene expression varies widely in natural populations, yet the proximate and ultimate causes of this variation are poorly known. Understanding how variation in gene expression affects abiotic stress tolerance, fitness, and adaptation is central to the ...

Validation of a Genetic Risk Score Combined with Clinical Variables for Predicting Pulmonary Fibrosis in early Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a severe extra‐articular manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The study aimed to externally validate a genetic risk score (GRS) and a combined risk score for predicting the risk of RA‐associated PF in an independent cohort of early‐RA patients. Methods This study utilized an inception cohort of 1118 patients

O polimorfismo AGT*M235T na disfunção cardíaca de etiologia isquêmica aguda: projeto gisca AGT*M235T polymorphism in acute ischemic cardiac dysfunction: the gisca project

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Polimorfismos beta1-adrenérgico associados com Fibrilação Atrial na Insuficiência Cardíaca Sistólica Beta1-adrenergic receptor polymorphisms associated with atrial fibrillation in systolic heart failure

Genes of the serotonergic and dopaminergic pathways and their interaction affect the expression of Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms in Dementia (BPSD). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Although there is evidence for the involvement of genes of serotonergic and dopaminergic systems in the manifestation of the Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms in Dementia (BPSD), genetic association studies are contradictory.

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Polimorfismos do gene da interleucina-13 nas posições -1055 C/T e +2044 G/A em pacientes com carcinoma espinocelular de cabeça e pescoço Interleukin-13 gene polymorphisms at -1055 C/T and +2044 G/A positions in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2012
