The Intuitive Logarithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We introduce the intuitive method to select an analytic Abel function of an analytic function f at a non-fixpoint. Due to the complexity of this method by involving matrix inversion of increasing size there is little known about its convergence.

Photoelectron Spectroscopy of the Phosphorus Monosulfide (PS) and Phosphorus Monoxide (PO) Radicals

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Sketch of the experiment to measure the photo electron spectrum of the PS radical produced in situ with a mixture of PH3, H2S and F atoms. PO and PS radicals are the smallest units of phosphorus oxides and phosphorus sulfides, respectively, two rich families of refractory compounds widely employed in industrial and technological applications. These two

Optimal Conditions for Pomegranate Peel Enzymatic Extraction of Phenolics Using Response Surface Methodology and Comparative Analysis With Traditional Soxhlet Extraction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study introduces a tannase‐focused enzyme‐assisted extraction (EAE) approach that modifies phenolics in pomegranate peel, significantly boosting antioxidant activity under mild processing conditions. The EAE method yields higher extract yields (≈70%) and antioxidant activity (≈74%) than Soxhlet extraction.

The geometry and arithmetic of bielliptic Picard curves

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 112, Issue 5, November 2025.
Abstract We study the geometry and arithmetic of the curves C:y3=x4+ax2+b$C \colon y^3 = x^4 + ax^2 + b$ and their associated Prym abelian surfaces P$P$. We prove a Torelli‐type theorem in this context and give a geometric proof of the fact that P$P$ has quaternionic multiplication by the quaternion order of discriminant 6.

Numerical Solutions of Linear Abel Integral Equations Via Boubaker Polynomials Method

open access: yesBaghdad Science Journal

Fractional Calculus for Solving generalized Abel's Integral Equations using Chebyshev Polynomials

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Applications, 2014
In this paper we investigate the numerical solution of Abel’s integral equations of the first and second kind by chebychev polynomials of the first ,second ,third and fourth kinds. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the method.

Characterizing the Shape of Cloud Particle Size Distributions in High‐Latitude Marine Cold‐Air Outbreaks

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 130, Issue 19, 16 October 2025.
Abstract Marine cold‐air outbreaks (MCAOs) drive significant evolutions in marine boundary layer clouds and play a crucial role in high‐latitude climate systems. This study examines the variability of cloud particle size distributions (PSDs) in high‐latitude MCAOs and how well their spectral shapes are represented by the gamma shape parameter μ used in

Laguerre Polynomials Based Numerical Method to Solve a System of Generalized Abel Integral Equations

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2012
AbstractIn this paper, a numerical method is presented to solve a system of generalized Abel integral equations which arise frequently while solving a variety of mixed boundary value problems of classical theory of elasticity. In the method, Laguerre polynomials are used for the approximation of the solution of the system of integral equations.

Monte Carlo analysis of energy deposition and X‐ray fluence in cylindrical anode systems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 26, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract Background Cylindrical anode X‐ray systems are increasingly used in multisource imaging; however, electron beam interactions with the curved anodes cause geometric distortions that alter energy deposition and X‐ray emission. Understanding these effects is key to optimizing system performance.

A consistent coupling of two‐moment microphysics and bulk ice optical properties, and its impact on radiation in a regional weather model

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, Volume 151, Issue 772, October 2025 Part A.
This study presents a novel, consistent coupling of two‐moment microphysics (i.e., ice mass mixing ratio and number) with bulk ice optical properties, providing improved accuracy in radiative transfer simulations. The parametrisations, based on the mass‐equivalent spherical radius, avoid uncertainties associated with the effective radius by directly ...
