Single‐Field Evolution Rule Governs the Dynamics of Representational Drift in Mouse Hippocampal Dorsal CA1 Region

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Long‐term hippocampal place‐code dynamics are investigated using calcium imaging across weeks of maze navigation. Analyses reveal a novelty‐irrelevant Single‐Field Evolution Rule (SFER), where active fields promote persistence and inactive fields decline.

The Geometry of Layer 2/3 Cortical Sound Processing in Slow Wave Sleep

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep is associated with a sensory disconnection whose mechanisms remain elusive. Large neuronal population recordings in the auditory cortex revealed that, in NREM sleep, the neural code for sounds is highly similar to wakefulness, but coordinated modulations of neuron responsiveness intermittently disconnect the local cortical networks from sensory ...

Suppressing Interfacial Instability of Immiscible Liquid‐in‐Liquid Flow Using Magnetic Forces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This paper investigates the magnetic stabilization of an immiscible inner liquid surrounded by a ferrofluid sheath. Suppressing instabilities and thermomagnetic manipulation of the inner liquid are shown. The results provide insight into Ferrohydrodynamic jet control for applications of industrial, pharmaceutical and physiological relevance.

Needle‐free, Liquid Metal‐embedded Electrospray Deposition System for Controlled Microdroplet Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The liquid metal‐embedded electrospray deposition (LM‐ESD) system combines stable droplet spray, clog‐free and recoverable operation, and simplified fabrication in a single polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microfluidic platform. By eliminating external electrodes, it offers needle‐free, robust, and scalable droplet array printing, ensuring reproducibility ...
