Decomposing Polynomial Systems into Simple Systems
A polynomial system \([P,Q]\) is a pair of multivariate polynomial sets \(P\) and \(Q\) and Zero \(([P,Q])\) is the set of all common zeros of the polynomials in \(P\) which are not zeros of any polynomial in \(Q\). Fixing an ordering to the variables, a simple system is a polynomial system ordered in triangular form, in which every polynomial is ...

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Tuning the controller for object models with one to four poles using the polinomial method
The paper describes the procedure for tuning the controller for control object models with one to four poles using the polynomial method, by imposing the damping ratio and the settling time of the synthesized system.

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Mixed method of model reduction for uncertain systems [PDF]
A mixed method for reducing a higher order uncertain system to a stable reduced order one is proposed. Interval arithmetic is used to construct a generalized Routh table for determining the denominator polynomial of the reduced system.

alphaCertified: certifying solutions to polynomial systems [PDF]
Smale's alpha-theory uses estimates related to the convergence of Newton's method to give criteria implying that Newton iterations will converge quadratically to solutions to a square polynomial system.

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

MAXIMIZING THE ROBUST STABILITY DEGREE OF SYSTEM WITH INTERVAL CHARACTERISTIC POLYNOMIAL
The article considers the use of critical root diagrams for the synthesis of a one-parameter robust controller that provides the maximum stability degree in a third-order system with interval parameters.
