The scale matters: A review on stimuli‐responsive microrobots categorized by scale for biomedical applications

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
We systematically summarize how each scale dictates fundamental choices in design feature, manufacturing technology, driving mechanism, and control strategy, which are inherently governed by scale‐dominated physical principles. Furthermore, the application of scale‐determined operation modes of microrobots across different stages of medical ...

Synergistic effect of polyoxometalate solution and TiO2 under UV irradiation to catalyze formic acid degradation and their application in the fuel cell and hydrogen evolution

open access: yesGreen Energy & Environment, 2017
The synergistic effect of H3PMo12O40 or H3PW12O40 polyoxometalate solution (POM) and TiO2 to catalyze formic acid oxidation was investigated. Under UV irradiation, hole and electron were photogenerated by TiO2.

Rearrangement of {α-P2W15} to {PW6} moieties during the assembly of transition-metal-linked polyoxometalate clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We report the formation of two polyoxotungstates of the general formula [M6(PW6O26)(α-P2W15O56)2(H2O)2]23− (M = CoII or MnII), which contain {PW6} fragments generated from the [P2W15O56]12− precursor, which demonstrates for the first time the ...

Activatable smart contrast agents for photoacoustic imaging

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in smart activatable photoacoustic imaging (PAI) contrast agents, which dynamically modulate their optical properties in response to external stimuli or microenvironmental cues. It discusses their molecular design, activation mechanisms, biomedical applications, and future prospects for clinically tailored use ...

Electrochemical study of H3PMo12 retention on Vulcan carbon grafted with NH2 and OH groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this work, we show a comparative study based on the effects of specific chemical functional groups (–OH, –NH2), grafted on Vulcan carbon (VC) with the incorporation of a specific polyoxometalate (POM), PMo12 (H3PMo12O40), to improve electrochemical ...

Advances in cholesterol and lipoproteins detection for healthcare: A review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Cholesterol is one of the main biomarkers related to the development of cardiovascular diseases. Its detection still relies on traditional methods of analysis, such as gas and liquid chromatographies. Detection of free cholesterol in saliva with redox or enzymatic sensors or detection of lipoproteins in blood with aptamer sensors are currently the most

Atom‐by‐Atom Multimetal CuMoP Deposition on Carbon Electrodes for Sensitive Antidiabetic Metformin Electrooxidation

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 1, June 2026.
An atom‐by‐atom ternary Cu–Mo–P nanocomposite is electrochemically co‐deposited onto screen‐printed carbon electrodes to create a highly active sensing interface for metformin detection. The porous mixed‐valence network enhances electroactive surface area and charge transfer, enabling sensitive and selective electrooxidation with a low detection limit.

Polyoxovanadate-modified SnO2 electron transport layer for perovskite photodetectors

open access: yesPolyoxometalates
SnO2 is widely used in perovskite photodetectors as an electron transport layer material. The matching of the energy levels of SnO2 and perovskite is important in carrier transport.
