Colorectal Cancer Cell's Weapon: RNF32 Engages SPP1+ Macrophages to Foster Liver Metastasis, Targeted by Indole‐3‐Acetic Acid

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic RNF32 fuels CRC liver metastasis by degrading GSK3β, which stabilizes β‐catenin and activates Wnt/EMT. Moreover, RNF32 rewires the metastatic niche: it depletes CD8+/CD4+ T and NK cells while recruiting SPP1+ macrophages (which boost tumor stemness via CD44), fibroblasts, and immunosuppressive monocytes to aid colonization.

Impact of Hyoscine Bromide Use on Polyp Detection Rate During Colonoscopy: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yesGastroenterology Research, 2018
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of death worldwide. Polyp detection rate (PDR) and adenoma detection rate (ADR) are key focus in endoscopic research for CRC screening and prevention.

Outcomes of Pancreas‐Sparing Total Duodenectomy for Severe Duodenal Polyposis in Patients With Familial Adenomatous Polyposis

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim Spigelman stage IV duodenal polyposis (SP‐stage IV DP) is associated with high duodenal cancer risk in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP). This study evaluated the surgical and oncological outcomes of pancreas‐sparing total duodenectomy (PSTD) as a surgical prophylaxis for severe duodenal polyposis in FAP.

Colonoscopic polyp detection rate is stable throughout the workday including evening colonoscopy sessions [v1; ref status: indexed, http://f1000r.es/3cf]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2014
Objective: Polyp detection rate (PDR) is an accepted measure of colonoscopy quality. Several factors may influence PDR including time of procedure and order of colonoscopy within a session. Our unit provides evening colonoscopy lists (6-9 pm).

Training a computer-aided polyp detection system to detect sessile serrated adenomas using public domain colonoscopy videos

open access: yesEndoscopy International Open, 2020
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major public health burden worldwide, and colonoscopy is the most commonly used CRC screening tool. Still, there is variability in adenoma detection rate (ADR) among endoscopists.

Efficacy of Local Bupivacaine Injection of Postoperative Pain in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Regional anesthesia is effective in alleviating postoperative pain and reducing the requirement for systemic pain medications. However, optimal postoperative pain management in endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) remains challenging.

The Global Airways in Practice: Long‐term Effects of Mepolizumab With or Without FESS on Type 2 Inflammation in Patients With CRSwNP

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a type 2 inflammatory disease often associated with asthma. The global airway hypothesis suggests bidirectional inflammatory interactions between upper and lower airways. Mepolizumab, an anti–IL‐5 therapy, treats conditions systemically, while functional endoscopic sinus surgery ...
