El género Lepidochitona Gray, 1821 tiene dos especies en el Caribe: L. liozonis (Dall & Simpson, 1901) y L. rosea Kaas, 1972. Se describe una tercera especie: Lepidochitona rufoi sp. nov. de Puerto Rico.
