Induction and Analysis of Polyploid in Eucommia ulmoides Oliver

open access: yesInternational Symposium on Eucommia Ulmoides, 2007
We studied the induction of polyploid in Eucommia ulmoides, which produces trans-polyisoprene (EU rubber), and compared its hydrophilic low molecular metabolites and EU rubber contents with diploid. Seeds were submerged in 0.05% colchicine solution for 72 h. Ploidy levels were investigated by flow cytometry measurement and Giemsa staining. As a result,

Induction of Polyploidization by Jaspamide in HL-60 Cells

Acta Haematologica, 2000
Jaspamide, a natural peptide isolated from the marine sponge <i>Hemiastrella minor</i>, was used in the study of polyploidy in HL-60 cells. Jaspamide at 5 × 10–8 <i>M</i> concentration exhibited antiproliferative activity and an increased CD4 and CD14 surface expression.

In vitro polyploid induction of orchids using oryzalin

Scientia Horticulturae, 2011
Abstract A protocol for in vitro polyploid induction using oryzalin was developed for Dendrobium , Epidendrum , Odontioda , and Phalaenopsis orchids (Orchidaceae). Protocorms and protocorm-like bodies (PLBs) in liquid nutrient media were subjected to oryzalin treatments of 14.4, 28.9, and 57.7 μM (w/v) concentrations for 3 and 6 days.

POLYPLOID INDUCTION OF DENDROBIUM DRACONIS RCHB.F

Acta Horticulturae, 2015
This study was carried out to find the optimal conditions for in vitro polyploid induction of Dendrobium draconis Rchb.f. Seed-derived protocorms of D. draconis were transferred to Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium containing different concentrations of colchicine (0-0.1%, in v/v) and maintained in the dark for 1, 2, 3 or 4 days at 25±2°C.

Advance in Researching Polyploid Induction on Heavy Metal Hyperaccumulator

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Using phytoremediation technique to remove contaminants from soil had become a topic in current research. This article expounded the domestic and oversea research progress of plants on polyploid techniques and was systematically elaborated from many aspects, including the formation of polyploid, induction methods, and application, etc. The direction of

In vitro polyploid induction of Paphiopedilum villosum using colchicine

Scientia Horticulturae, 2019
Abstract New ornamental varieties with higher quality can be created via artificial polyploid induction. In the present study, the first polyploid induction of Paphiopedilum villosum was described. In vitro young shoots of Paphiopedilum villosum were produced shoots to be used as material for inducing autopolyploidization.

POLYPLOID INDUCTION VIA COLCHICINE TREATMENT IN LOQUAT

Acta Horticulturae, 2015
Tetraploid and triploid seedlings of ‘Algerie’ loquat were obtained using colchicine. Colchicine treatments at different doses and exposure times were applied to shoot apex, whole plants and non-germinated seeds. No stable tetraploids were obtained by treating the shoot apex of 30-days-old in vitro-grown seedlings with one drop of 0.01 and 0.05% (w/

Induction of polyploid nuclei in Physarum polycephalum by cycloheximide treatment in prophase

Experimental Cell Research, 1984
Macroplasmodia of the acellular slime mold Physarum polycephalum were treated with pulses of cycloheximide (10 micrograms/ml medium, for 3 h), initiated 10-20 min before metaphase in the synchronous nuclear division cycle. This treatment interfered with normal division of the nuclei, but permitted DNA synthesis in the next S phase.

Improved techniques for the induction and isolation of polyploids in the genus Fragaria

Euphytica, 1976
The sensitivity of Fragaria seedlings to colchicine is dependent on the plant organ that is treated. Complete immersion of seedlings in a 1.5% colchicine solution results in total lethality, whereas the survival rates were more than 75% even at concentrations of 3.0% when only shoot apices were treated.
