Genome-wide gene/genome dosage imbalance regulates gene expressions in synthetic Brassica napus and derivatives (AC, AAC, CCA, CCAA)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Gene/genome dosage balance is an essential evolutionary mechanism for organisms to ensure a normal function, but the underlying causes of dosage-imbalance regulation remain poorly understood.

Ecological niches in the polyploid complex Linum suffruticosum s.l.

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
IntroductionThe high frequency of polyploidy in the evolutionary history of many plant groups occurring in the Mediterranean region is likely a consequence of its dynamic paleogeographic and climatic history.

Understanding and Overcoming Antibody‐Drug Conjugate Resistance: Biological Mechanisms and Emerging Analytical Frameworks in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) transform breast cancer therapy, yet resistance limits their durability. Emerging evidence reveals that ADC failure is not solely tumor‐intrinsic but shaped by dynamic tumor–microenvironment interactions that alter drug delivery, processing, and response.

NGS Based Haplotype Assembly Using Matrix Completion

open access: yes, 2019
We apply matrix completion methods for haplotype assembly from NGS reads to develop the new HapSVT, HapNuc, and HapOPT algorithms. This is performed by applying a mathematical model to convert the reads to an incomplete matrix and estimating unknown ...

A simple and efficient approach to elucidate genomic contribution of transcripts to a target gene in polyploids: the case of hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the most economically important crops in the world, however, gene functional studies in this crop have been lagging mainly due to the complexity of its polyploid genome, which is derived through two rounds of

Occurrence of LINE, gypsy-like, and copia-like retrotransposons in the clonally propagated sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Retrotransposons are a class of transposable elements that represent a major fraction of the repetitive DNA of most eukaryotes. Their abundance stems from their expansive replication strategies.

Comparative Oligo‐FISH Mapping Illuminates Chromosomal Evolution Among Rutaceae Species Diverged Over 50 Million Years

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oligonucleotide‐based fluorescence in situ hybridization probes were developed in the model citrus species Citrus maxima. These probes were applied to comparative karyotyping across 14 species in the Rutaceae family. This analysis revealed chromosomal evolution in lineages that diverged from Citrus nearly 52 million years ago.

Cytological, Molecular-Genetic and Silvicultural-Selection Research of Polyploid Poplars [PDF]

open access: yesСибирский лесной журнал, 2014
The results of cytological, silvicultural and selection research and DNA analysis of polyploid poplars are discussed in the article. Poplar clones were studied for productivity, the number of chromosomes, selection and testing of microsatellite loci for ...

Occurrence of spontaneous polyploids in Citrus

open access: yesHorticultural Science, 2006
Seedlings recovered from underdeveloped seeds of different commercial cultivars of Citrus were studied for their ploidy level. Cytological examination revealed that maximum triploid plants were found in lime Kaghzi (15.5%) followed by grapefruit Foster ...

Unreduced megagametophyte production in lemon occurs via three meiotic mechanisms, predominantly second-division restitution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Unreduced (2n) gametes have played a pivotal role in polyploid plant evolution and are useful for sexual polyploid breeding in various species, particularly for developing new seedless citrus varieties.
