Non‐canonical PKG1 regulation in cardiovascular health and disease

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
It is well established that the cyclic GMP‐dependent protein kinase I (PKG1) is canonically activated by cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), enabling its regulation of vascular tone, cardiac function and smooth muscle homeostasis. However, diverse non‐canonical stimuli of PKG1 have also been identified.

Effect of Antagonistic Binder–Catalyst Interactions on Catalytic Activity in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 21, 18 May 2026.
The binder is shown to interact antagonistically with the catalyst in a sulfur cathode, impeding Li2Sx adsorption onto catalytic active sites. This hinders electrochemical performance and prevents the effective deployment of catalysts. This study showcases catalyst‐binder compatibility as a key parameter for cathode design in lithium‐sulfur (Li‐S ...

Stimuli‐Responsive Poly(Disulfide)s: A Versatile Platform for Intelligent Drug Delivery Systems

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Ring‐opening polymerization based on dynamic disulfide bond exchange is an important method for synthesizing poly(disulfide)s. These polymers possess stimulus‐responsive mechanisms and show broad prospects in intelligent drug delivery. This review systematically discusses the ring‐opening polymerization strategy and research progress of drug delivery ...

Effect of the Electrolyte Amount and Type on the Lithium‐Sulfur Battery Performance

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 10, 19 May 2026.
Lithium‐sulfur (Li‐S) battery electrolyte systems of sulfolane and triglyme solvents coupled with LiTFSI, LiTF, and LiClO4 salts were characterized for E/S ratios between 6 and 23 mL g−1. For lean electrolyte conditions, that is, 6 mL g−1, the sulfolane‐LiTFSI system exhibits superior electrochemical performance owing to its high donor number and ...
