A Comparative Study of MINLP and MPVC Formulations for Solving Complex Nonlinear Decision‐Making Problems in Aerospace Applications

open access: yesOptimal Control Applications and Methods, Volume 47, Issue 1, Page 4-23, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT High‐level decision‐making for dynamical systems often involves performance and safety specifications that are activated or deactivated depending on conditions related to the system state and commands. Such decision‐making problems can be naturally formulated as optimization problems where these conditional activations are regulated by ...

FTheoryTools: Advancing Computational Capabilities for F‐Theory Research

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract A primary goal of string phenomenology is to identify realistic four‐dimensional physics within the landscape of string theory solutions. In F‐theory, such solutions are encoded in the geometry of singular elliptic fibrations, whose study often requires particularly challenging and cumbersome computations.

Scissors congruence K$K$‐theory for equivariant manifolds

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We introduce a scissors congruence K$K$‐theory spectrum that lifts the equivariant scissors congruence groups for compact G$G$‐manifolds with boundary, and we show that on π0$\pi _0$, this is the source of a spectrum‐level lift of the Burnside ring‐valued equivariant Euler characteristic of a compact G$G$‐manifold.

Canonical forms of oriented matroids

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Positive geometries are semialgebraic sets equipped with a canonical differential form whose residues mirror the boundary structure of the geometry. Every full‐dimensional projective polytope is a positive geometry. Motivated by the canonical forms of polytopes, we construct a canonical form for any tope of an oriented matroid inside the Orlik–

Coxeter's enumeration of Coxeter groups

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract In a short paper that appeared in the Journal of the London Mathematical Society in 1934, H. S. M. Coxeter completed the classification of finite Coxeter groups. In this survey, we describe what Coxeter did in this paper and examine an assortment of topics that illustrate the broad and enduring influence of Coxeter's paper on developments in ...

Robust design of flexible supply chains with mobile and modular facilities

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 71, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Modular manufacturing is increasingly being adopted by the chemical industry in applications where resource availability and product demand are highly distributed and uncertain. Modular plants are often built such that they can be easily relocated.

Molecular Mechanisms Explaining Neuroanatomical Subtypes in Major Depressive Disorder: Insights From Cortical Morphometric Inverse Divergence

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 16, November 2025.
MIND‐based clustering identified two MDD subtypes with distinct molecular signatures. ABSTRACT Major depressive disorder (MDD) exhibits substantial neurobiological heterogeneity that complicates treatment selection and mechanistic understanding. While conventional group‐level analyses identify diverse structural alterations, they obscure clinically ...

The Robust Vehicle Routing Problem With Synchronization: Models and Branch‐And‐Cut Algorithms

open access: yesNetworks, Volume 86, Issue 3, Page 296-324, October 2025.
ABSTRACT The Vehicle Routing Problem with Synchronization (VRPSync) aims to minimise the total routing costs while considering synchronization requirements that must be fulfilled between tasks of different routes. These synchronization requirements are especially relevant when it is necessary to have tasks being performed by vehicles within given ...

Moments, sums of squares, and tropicalization

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 112, Issue 4, October 2025.
Abstract We use tropicalization to study the duals to cones of nonnegative polynomials and sums of squares on a semialgebraic set S$S$. The truncated cones of moments of measures supported on the set S$S$ are dual to nonnegative polynomials on S$S$, while “pseudomoments” are dual to sums of squares approximations to nonnegative polynomials.
