Study on synthesis of biodegradable polyurea grease using modified vegetable oil

Journal of Military Science and Technology, 2022
Lubricants have been applied in numerous industrial fields, as they help reduce friction and heat generated when operating machines and also protect metallic parts in corrosive environments. In some applications, especially in marine, these greases need to be biodegradable, or they get accumulated and can be harmful to aquatic life.

Comparison Friction and Wear Properties of Overbased Calcium Sulfonate Complex Grease and Polyurea Grease

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
The friction and wear properties of the overbased calcium sulfonate complex grease and polyurea grease were evaluated using an Optimol SRV reciprocating friction and wear tester under the boundary lubrication conditions. The morphologies of the worn surfaces of the AISI 52100 steel discs were observed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Effect of Base Oil Composition on the Low-Temperature Properties of Polyurea Greases

Petroleum Chemistry, 2017
The influence of the base oil composition on the low-temperature properties of polyurea grease has been studied. Low-viscosity mineral, hydrotreated, and synthetic polyalphaolefin base oils have been used as a dispersion medium for polyurea grease samples. The fractional and group compositions of these base oils have been determined.

Effect of Additives on the Replenishment Performances and Vibration Resistance of Polyurea Greases

Journal of Tribology
Abstract This study investigates the effects of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP), molybdenum dialkyldithiophosphate (MoDDP), and potassium borate (PB) on the replenishment performances and vibration resistance of polyurea grease using a mini traction machine (MTM) and an optical elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) test rig. Tribological Behavior and Mechanism of Surface-Modified Mullite as Polyurea Grease Additive

Journal of Tribology
Abstract The excellent tribological performance of nanoparticles as additives in lubricating greases has attracted widespread attention. In this study, a silane coupling agent (KH550) was used to chemically modify nanoscale mullite (composed of Al2O3 and SiO2), and the modified nano-KH-mullite was dispersed as an additive in polyurea ...
