Tribological Properties of Alkylphenyl Diphosphates as High-Performance Antiwear Additive in Lithium Complex Grease and Polyurea Grease for Steel/Steel Contacts at Elevated Temperature

open access: yes, 2016
The alkylphenyl diphosphates pentaerythritol tetrakis(diphenyl phosphate) (PDP) and trimethylolpropane tris(diphenyl phosphate) (TDP) were evaluated as the antiwear additives in lithium complex grease and polyurea grease at 200 °C.

From Plasma Chemistry to Adhesion Strength: Mechanical Characterization of Pure Versus Mixed Aminosilane Films for Bonding Polyurea to Aluminum

open access: yesPlasma Processes and Polymers, Volume 23, Issue 6, June 2026.
Plasma‐polymerized aminosilane films act as effective primers for bonding polyurea adhesives to aluminum. While pure APTES quadruples joint strength, co‐polymerization with silazanes or other monomers surprisingly degrades adhesion. This reveals a shift in the governing mechanism for adhesion: once a threshold of reactive surface amines is available ...

Tribochemistry and EP Activity Assessment of Mo‐S Complexes in Lithium‐Base Greases

open access: yesAdvances in Tribology, Volume 2008, Issue 1, 2008., 2008
The blends of bis(1,5‐diaryl‐2,4‐dithiomalonamido)dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes in lithium‐base grease are evaluated for their extreme pressure activity in a “four‐ball test” using 12.7 mm diameter alloy steel ball specimen. The additive, bis(1,5‐di‐p‐methoxyphenyl‐2,4‐dithiomalonamido)dioxomolybdenum(VI) and bis(1,5‐di‐p‐chloro‐phenyl‐2,4 ...

Current carrying tribological properties of multi arc ion plated titanium nitride doped silver coating

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Sliding electrical contact materials play a crucial role in the transmission and conversion of electrical energy, but due to various factors such as force, electricity, and heat, the interface exhibits complex wear behavior.

Synthesis of New Silylated and N−Si−N bridged Urea Derivatives from Aminosilanes and Diisocyanates

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 19, Issue 23, December 2, 2024.
Urea derivatives were obtained by insertion of diisocyanates into aminosilanes of the types Me3SiNRR′ and Me2Si(NRR′)2. Interesting differences in N‐Si connectivities are caused by steric and electronic effects of the reactants and migration of ‐SiMe3 and ‐(SiMe2)‐ moieties. Abstract Urea derivatives of the general motifs R1(N(SiMe3)C(O)NR2R3)2 and [R1(

Room Temperature Production of Polyurea-Based Lubricants: Using L-Serine Derivatives, 1,5 Pentamethylene Diisocyanate, and a Planetary Ball Mill

open access: yesLubricants
In this work, we produced a new polyurea (PU)-based thickener based on serine derivatives (ethanolamine or L-Serine ethyl ester) and 1,5 pentamethylene diisocyanate (PDI), using castor oil as base oil and methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) as a ...
