The Use of Polyurethane Injection as a Geotechnical Seismic Isolation Method in Large-Scale Applications: A Numerical Study

open access: yesGeosciences, 2021
This paper analyses the effect of polyurethane injections on the seismic surficial response of cohesionless soils. For this purpose, dynamic finite element numerical analyses were performed through GiD + OpenSees. Both the soil and the composite material,

Multiscale modeling of thermal properties in Polyurethane incorporated with phase change materials composites: A case study [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Polyurethane (PU) is an ideal thermal insulation material due to its excellent thermal properties. The incorporation of Phase Change Materials (PCMs) capsules into Polyurethane (PU) has been shown to be effective in building envelopes. This design can significantly increase the stability of the indoor thermal environment and reduce the fluctuation of ...

Statistical properties of microcracking in polyurethane foams under tensile test, influence of temperature and density [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fracture 1-4, 140 (07/2006) 87, 2007
We report tensile failure experiments on polyurethane (PU) foams. Experiments have been performed by imposing a constant strain rate. We work on heterogeneous materials for whom the failure does not occur suddenly and can develop as a multistep process through a succession of microcracks that end at pores.

Photodegradation and self-healing in a Rhodamine 6G dye and Y$_2$O$_3$ nanoparticle-doped polyurethane random laser [PDF]

open access: yesApp. Phys. B 120, 1-12 (2015), 2015
One of the fundamental difficulties in implementing organic dyes in random lasers is irreversible photodegradation of the dye molecules, leading to loss of performance and the need to replace the dye. We report the observation of self-healing after photodegradation in a Rhodamine 6G dye and nanoparticle doped polyurethane random laser.

Analytical modeling and experimentally optimizing synergistic effect on thermal conductivity enhancement of polyurethane nanocomposites with hybrid carbon nanofillers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Combining various carbon nanofillers with different dimensions can lead to a synergistic effect through the formation of an efficient conductive network. Hybrid polyurethane (PU) nanocomposites containing multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) were fabricated to study experimental and theoretical aspects of thermal ...

Oxidation Behavior and Decomposition Kinetics of Mixed-Waste Biomass Material

open access: yesBioResources, 2022
In Taiwan, approximately 379,000 automobiles and 588,000 motorcycles were recycled in 2019. Rigid polyurethane foam is one of the principal components of auto shredder residue. The amount of rigid polyurethane foam from the recycling of waste vehicles is

Mechanical relaxation behavior of polyurethanes reinforced with the in situ-generated sodium silica-polyphosphate nanophase [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Further exploration of hybrid organic/inorganic composites (polyurethane based with inorganic material sodium silica polyphosphate) properties with mechanical relaxometer gives ability to analyze microstructure of such materials in terms of chain reptation tubes filler's fractal aggregates and stress amplification.
