Critical Role of Surface Properties in Passive Interstitial Fluid Extraction Using Polymeric Hollow Microneedles for Wearable Diagnostics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study provides a deeper exploration into the surface interactions of interstitial fluid (ISF) and polymeric hollow microneedle (HMN) surfaces by investigating the effects of fabrication‐induced surface changes on the microchannels of 3 different polymeric HMNs.

Solution‐Processable Polymer Nanocomposites for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This review introduces scalable strategies for fabricating solution‐processable polymer nanocomposites with improved electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance. It compares three fabrication methods, including solution blending, in situ polymerization, and Pickering emulsion polymerization, and highlights their respective advantages in ...

Atmospheric Cold Plasma Technology Enabling Scalable Surface‐Independent Protein Immobilization for Biosensing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Standardized surface‐independent immobilization of biosensing layers by means of COOH linker‐layer using plasma polymerization under atmospheric pressure conditions, with the potential for commercialization. PMMA is successfully biofunctionalized with streptavidin, IgG, and protein G, showing stable performance for at least one month.
