Pomacea canaliculata (golden apple snail).
2021Abstract P. canaliculata is a freshwater snail native to parts of Argentina and Uruguay. The distribution of P. canaliculata has been steadily increasing since its introduction to Asia, primarily as a human food resource but perhaps also by the aquarium trade, beginning around 1979 or 1980 (Mochida, 1991; Halwart, 1994a; Cowie, 2002;

palmeri Pomacea palmeri Marshall, 1930. Additional type material and detail of type material — paratypes: USNM 380697 (4 spms.). Remarks. The lot (USNM 380698; 133 spms.) described by Marshall (1930: 5) as “embryonic shells” is not type material, as its listing separately from the “ type ” and “ paratypes ” expressly excludes it from the type series ...

Histopathological effects of Pedunsaponin A on Pomacea canaliculata
Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2018Pedunsaponin A, a novel molluscicidal compound isolated from Pueraria peduncularis, exhibits strong toxicity against Pomacea canaliculata. To determine the mechanisms of Pedunsaponin A toxicity, its effects on the organs and hemocytes of P. canaliculata were examined in this study. The results showed that Pedunsaponin A had significant toxic effects on

Biological Invasions, 2013
Two species of apple snails, Pomacea canaliculata and Pomacea maculata (formerly Pomacea insularum), have invaded many countries of East and Southeast Asia from their native range in South America. This study investigated the genetic structure of the two species invading these areas.

Characterizations of Cholinesterases in Golden Apple Snail (Pomacea canaliculata)
Journal of Molecular Neuroscience, 2013Cholinesterases (ChEs) have been identified in vertebrates and invertebrates. Inhibition of ChE activity in invertebrates, such as bivalve molluscs, has been used to evaluate the exposure of organophosphates, carbamate pesticides, and heavy metals in the marine system.
