Count your eggs before they invade: identifying and quantifying egg clutches of two invasive apple snail species (Pomacea). [PDF]
Winning the war against invasive species requires early detection of invasions. Compared to terrestrial invaders, aquatic species often thrive undetected under water and do not garner notice until too late for early action.

On Pomacea canaliculata (Lamarck, 1822) (Mollusca; Pilidae: Ampullariidae) [PDF]
This paper deals with the morphology of Pomacea caniculata (Lamarck, 1822) collected at Corrientes, Argentina. Comparison is made with Pomacea lineata (Spix, 1827) and Pomacea sordida (Swainson, 1823). The shell is globose, heavy, with greenish or horn-colored periostracum and dark spiral bands; apex subelevated, 5-6 whorls increasing rather rapidly ...

Field Evaluation of Plants Molluscicide against Pomacea canaliculata
Two plants reported as molluscicides have been tested against the snail Pomacea canaliculata under field conditions. The molluscicide activity of the formulation Sapindus saponaria L. (100%) was compared with the mixture of Sapindus saponaria L. and Solanum mammosum L. (50:50, w/w) using different concentrations (10, 50, 100, 200, 400 mg.L−1).

Abstract We describe the Hettangian Caenogastropoda and Heterobranchia of the Luxembourg Sandstone Formation, a wedge of clastic sediments deposited along the eastern margin of Paris Basin during the Early Jurassic. Five new genera and 11 new species are erected: Bourguetia bipartita sp. nov., Globularia delsatei sp. nov., Oonia feidtorum sp.

Freshwater pulmonate snails are prevalent across Kenya and act as intermediate hosts for trematode parasites, some of which are snail vectors for human schistosomiasis. Chemical molluscicides have rarely been used routinely in Kenya to control snails due to high costs of manufacture and the subsequent environmental concerns associated with their use ...

Warming mediates the relationship between plant nutritional properties and herbivore functional responses [PDF]
Quantifying the per capita effects of invasive alien species is crucial for assessing their ecological impact. A major challenge to risk assessment of invasive species was to understand the factors that cause per capita effects to vary in different ...
