Utilization of Channels Digestion Golden Snail (Pomacea Canaliculata) as Lytic Enzyme and Application on Yeast Pichia Manshurica DUCC-Y15 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Mollusks were one of invertebrate animals that have not been studied and used in in the field of enzyme. One type of mollusk that has not been exploited significantly is golden snail (Pomacea canaliculata), especially in the digestive ...

Divergent Response of Host‐Specific Driven Gut Microbial Stability in Freshwater Gastropods to Cyanobacterial Blooms

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2025.
In this study, two freshwater gastropods (Bellamya aeruginosa and Pomacea canaliculata) were used as controls to study the differences in the effects of cyanobacteria on their gut microbial communities in ponds with the absence of cyanobacterial blooms. Cyanobacterial blooms cause distinct differences in the diversity, community structure, and assembly

Dose-dependent inhibitory effects of glyphosate on invasive Pomacea canaliculata reproductive and developmental growth under oxidative deposition

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2023
Glyphosate (GLY) is the most widely used herbicide worldwide, and its effects on animals and plants have attracted increasing attention. In this study, we explored the following: (1) the effects of multigenerational chronic exposure to GLY and H2O2 ...

Evidence for maternal transmission fo a putative endosymbiont in the digestive gland of Pomacea canaliculata (Architaenioglossa, Ampullariidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The digestive gland of the apple snail Pomacea canaliculata lodges two types of pigmented corpuscles (identified as C and K corpuscles) which has been proposed as endosymbiont/s.

Structural similarities reveal an expansive conotoxin family with a two‐finger toxin fold

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 34, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Venomous animals have evolved a diverse repertoire of toxins with considerable pharmaceutical potential. The rapid evolution of peptide toxins, such as the conotoxins produced by venomous marine cone snails, often complicates efforts to infer their evolutionary relationships based solely on sequence information.

Overwintering ability of the apple snail, Pomacea canaliculata.

open access: yesKyushu Plant Protection Research, 1987

Comparative Genomics of Sex‐Determination‐Related Genes Reveals Shared Evolutionary Patterns Between Bivalves and Mammals, but Not Fruit Flies

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 20, October 2025.
ABSTRACT The molecular basis of sex determination (SD), while being extensively studied in model organisms, remains poorly understood in many animal groups. Bivalves, a diverse class of molluscs with a variety of reproductive modes, represent an ideal yet challenging clade for investigating SD and the evolution of sexual systems.

Harnessing Environmental DNA to Explore Frugivorous Interactions: A Case Study in Papaya (Carica papaya) and Pineapple (Ananas comosus)

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 7, Issue 5, September–October 2025.
Simplified workflow of environmental DNA metabarcoding from fruits of papaya (Carica papaya) and pineapple (Ananas comosus). ABSTRACT Plant–animal interactions (PAIs) are critical in natural and agricultural ecosystems, mediating energy flow with both positive and negative interactions.
