Inheritance of Thornlessness in Trifoliate Orange[Poncirus trifoliata(L.) Raf.].

open access: yesEngei Gakkai zasshi, 1999
The inheritance of a thornless characteristic in trifoliate orange was studied. Ten-month-old seedlings of the progenies that were obtained from selfing and crossing of the trifoliate orange strains, including thornless ones, which were observed for development of thorns, were classified into a thorny or thornless type.

A Study on the Cell Layer Patterns of a Citrus Periclinal Chimera Reveals β‐Cryptoxanthin Regulation in Citrus Fruits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 41, November 6, 2025.
Researchers have identified a citrus chimera with distinctive tissue origins and carotenoid profiles. It is discovered that fruit tissues develop from all three cell layers but in different proportions. A key transcription factor, MYB107, regulates β‐cryptoxanthin production by directly activating carotenoid biosynthesis genes, explaining why some ...

First Report of Citrus Scab on Trifoliate Orange (Poncirus trifoliata)

open access: yesResearch in Plant Disease, 2020
Citrus scab symptoms were observed on leaves of trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata) in open field of Citrus Research Institute, National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science. Typical scab pustules were formed and they were elevated protuberances form and light brown to grey.

First Report of Colletotrichum siamense and Description of Lasiodiplodia adeniicola sp. nov. Causing Leaf Spot on Desert Rose in Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Phytopathology, Volume 173, Issue 6, November/December 2025.
ABSTRACT In July 2021, desert rose plants were consistently observed with symptoms of brown spots on the leaves, which coalesced and promoted leaf fall. The causal agent of the disease was unknown. This study aimed to identify the pathogen responsible for the symptoms through morphological and molecular characterisation, as well as pathogenicity tests.

Anti-human Immunodeficiency Virus-1 Constituents of the Bark of Poncirus trifoliata

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2010
A total of 36 compounds (1-36) were obtained from the stem bark of Poncirus trifoliata including three new prenylated flavonoids, (-)-5,4'-dihydroxy-7,8-[(3'',4''-cis-dihydroxy-3'',4''-dihydro)-2'',2''-dimethylpyrano]-flavone (1), (-)-5,4'-dihydroxy-7,8-[(3''-hydroxy-4''-one)-2'',2''-dimethylpyrano]-flavone (2), and (-)-5,4'-dihydroxy-7,8-[(cis-3 ...

Regulation of jasmonic acid signalling in tomato cold stress response: Insights into the MYB15‐LOXD and MYB15‐MYC2‐LOXD regulatory modules

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 10, Page 4246-4260, October 2025.
Summary Cold stress significantly affects the growth and productivity of tomatoes. Despite the known involvement of jasmonate (JA) in cold stress responses, the underlying mechanism remains to be elucidated. Here, we observed that JA peaked 24 h after cold treatment.
