The annual cycle of spermatozoa content in the vas deferens and some reproductive parameters in the narrow-clawed crayfish Pontastacus leptodactylus (Eschscholtz, 1823)

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2019
Understanding the annual dynamic of gametes in crayfish is useful for successful management of crayfish population. The annual variations in spermatozoa content of vas deferens, gonado-somatic index (GSI), hepatosomatic index (HSI), vas deferens index ...

Fecundity of the narrow-clawed crayfish Pontastacus leptodactylus in the water bodies of Belarus

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Biological Series, 2023
Pre-larvae hatching fecundity and ovarian fecundity of narrow-clawed crayfish populations were estimated in the lakes and reservoirs of Belarus. Statistically significant differences in the fecundity of females from various water bodies were noted only for Lake Kichino.

A PROPOSAL FOR ACCEPTING PONTASTACUS AS A GENUS OF EUROPEAN CRAYFISH WITHIN THE FAMILY ASTACIDAE BASED ON A REVISION OF THE WEST AND EAST EUROPEAN TAXONOMIC LITERATURE

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 2006
The taxonomic classification of European crayfish is neither fully examined nor generally accepted as a unifying scheme. At present, one of the most obvious differences exists between astacologists from Western and Eastern Europe.

Karyotypes and Morphological Variability of Crayfish Pontastacus Leptodactylus and P. Angulosus (Malacostraca, Decapoda)

open access: yesVestnik Zoologii, 2013
The existence on the territory of Ukraine of two sympatric widespread species definitely different by their chromosome number was proved based on the meiotic chromosome preparations. Besides the nominal species Pontastacus leptodactylus (Dana, 1852) with modal haploid chromosome number n = 93 we prove the existence of P. angulosus (Rathke, 1837) with n

Effects of Substituting Fish Meal by Chlorella Meal in Practical Diet on Growth, Feed Utilization, and Flesh Quality of Pacific White Shrimp (Penaeus vannamei). [PDF]

open access: yesAquac Nutr
This study investigated the effects of substituting fish meal (FM) in practical diet by chlorella meal on the growth, feed utilization, and flesh quality of Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei). First, a basal diet was prepared with 200 g/kg FM inclusion (FM‐20), and then chlorella meal was used to reduce FM inclusion to 150 g/kg (FM‐15), 100 g/kg ...

The food of Branchiobdella Odier, 1823 (Annelida) dwelling on crayfish and the occurrence of the fish parasite Argulus Müller, 1785 (Crustacea) on the carapace of Pontastacus leptodactylus (Esch.) [PDF]

open access: yesActa Ichthyologica et Piscatoria, 1999
Gut content of Branchiobdella spp. was examined in 83-945 individuals belonging to 4 species, collected from 31 individuals of Astacus astacus (L.) and 12 individuals of Pontastacus leptodactylus (Esch.) from north-western and southern Poland.

Habitat separation of the crab potamon potamios and the crayfish pontastacus leptodactylus in Lake eğirdir, Turkey

open access: yesLimnologica, 2019
Abstract Freshwater decapods rarely co-occur. The crab Potamon potamios and the narrow-clawed crayfish Pontastacus leptodactylus complex usually do not share the same pond even if they live in sympatry. An exception, however, is Lake Egirdir (Turkey), where both species are present. The aim of our study was to analyze the distribution patterns of the

Impact of Stocking Density on the Survival, Growth and Injury of Narrow Narrow-Clawed Crayfish ( Pontastacus leptodactylus ) Reared in a Flowing Brackish Water System

open access: yesActa Natura et Scientia, 2022
The crayfish population dramatically declined in most lakes and dams in Türkiye; hence, crayfish culture is a possible option to increase the supply. This study aimed to determine the effects of stocking density on the growth performance and survival ...
