Parallel Genome‐Wide CRISPR Screens Reveal SORL1 and ZFYVE19 as Sequential Host Determinants of Salmonella Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To distinguish how Salmonella invades cells vs how it survives long‐term, a parallel CRISPR screening platform is developed. This approach reveals the host proteins that the bacterium exploits at different stages of infection. The study identifies SORL1 as a novel host factor for invasion and demonstrates that blocking it with an antibody effectively ...

Modelling and Numerical Simulation of Liquid-Vapor Phase Transition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
International audienceThe present work is dedicated to the simulation of compressible two-phase flows with phase change for pool boiling type problems. The model we are concerned with involves scales that allow to distinguish the interface between both ...

AI‐Driven Acceleration of Fluorescence Probe Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present PROBY, an AI model trained on large‐scale datasets to predict key photophysical properties and accelerate the discovery of target‐specific fluorescent probes. By screening a target‐annotated library, PROBY identifies candidate probes for diverse targets and could guide probe optimization, enabling a range of in vitro and in vivo imaging ...

Acetylation Regulates ACSL4 Degradation Through Chaperone‐Mediated Autophagy to Alleviate Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Intervertebral disc degeneration is triggered by ACSL4 accumulation‐mediated ferroptosis of nucleus pulposus cells due to CMA dysfunction. KAT2B promotes ACSL4 degradation via CMA through acetylation. AAV‐mediated LAMP2A delivery or engineered exosomes rescue nucleus pulposus cell senescence and disc degeneration.

Numerical Simulation of Pool Boiling on Novel Microstructured Heated Surface

open access: yesEnergies
Improving the pool boiling heat transfer by changing the properties of the heating surface has been experimentally studied by many researchers. In this paper, two novel microstructured surfaces with open channels were simulated and investigated.

Two-phase heat transfer in small passages and microfinned surfaces - Fundamentals and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Micro channels and internally finned tubes are increasingly being utilized in the evaporators and condensers of refrigeration systems. The adoption of such geometries in the development of micro-cooling systems is first discussed in this paper.
