Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Neural spike train synchronization indices: Definitions, interpretations, and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A comparison of previously defined spike train synchronization indices is undertaken within a stochastic point process framework. The second-order cumulant density (covariance density) is shown to be common to all the indices.

Automobile Sales and Macroeconomic Variables: A Pooled Mean Group Analysis for Asean Countries

open access: yesIOSR Journal of Business and Management, 2012
The objective of this paper is to analyse the impact of economic variables on automobile sales in five ASEAN countries. The long term and short term correlation between these variables are implemented using the panel error-correction model. Annual data from 1996 to 2010 involving five variables from five ASEAN countries namely Malaysia, Singapore ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Premenopausal endogenous oestrogen levels and breast cancer risk: a meta-analysis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
BACKGROUND: Many of the established risk factors for breast cancer implicate circulating hormone levels in the aetiology of the disease. Increased levels of postmenopausal endogenous oestradiol (E2) have been found to increase the risk of breast cancer ...

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

To Pool or to Aggregate? Tests with a Dynamic Panel Macroeconometric Model of Australian State Labour Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
We construct a dynamic error correction model of the Australian labour market using a macroeconomic panel across seven states from 1972:3 to 1999:1. Long run equilibrium estimates support a real wage-productivity gap and an unemployment gap.

External Resources and Savings Rate: A Pooled Mean Group Analysis for Developing Countries

open access: yesJournal of Economics and Behavioral Studies, 2011
To examine the effect of external resources on savings dynamics, this paper employs the pooled mean group (PMG) technique to a large sample of 65 developing countries over the period of 1970 to 2009. The panel results for all the countries together suggest that approximately 33% of domestic savings are displaced by the inflow of external resources ...
