The popliteal artery entrapment syndrome is characterized by extrinsic compression of this artery as a result of anatomic deviation from its usual course, or by compression from musculotendinous structures in the popliteal fossa. Clinical symptoms appear when these affected individuals do strenuous exercises.

Popliteal artery aneurysms and popliteal phymas.

For the differential diagnosis of popliteal phymas, popliteal artery aneurysms are evaluated. They are frequent among peripheral aneurysms. However, diagnosis is difficult in some patients because clinical symptoms vary. We report 2 patients who consulted our hospital for popliteal phymas.
