Endothelial GPR68 Is Essential for Arteriogenesis and Represents a Therapeutic Target in a Model of Peripheral Artery Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
Endothelial GPR68 is identified as a critical regulator of collateral artery growth in peripheral artery disease. Genetic and pharmacological evidence demonstrates that GPR68 integrates hemodynamic cues to drive monocyte recruitment and inflammatory remodeling, thereby promoting collateral arteriogenesis and tissue perfusion after ischemia ...

Nonheparin-bonded stent relining in a case of subacute in-stent thrombosis secondary to heparin-induced thrombocytopenia

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques
A 62-year-old man with incidentally discovered bilateral popliteal artery aneurysms presented with acute critical limb ischemia with a thrombosed popliteal stent, thrombocytopenia, and positive platelet factor 4 antibodies suggesting a diagnosis of type ...

Penetrating injuries of the popliteal artery

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1978
Abstract Military experience has consistently emphasized the unacceptably high amputation rate associated with popliteal arterial trauma. In this group of patients there were 23 arterial injuries and 26 injuries involving both an artery and a vein.

Mechanically Robust Biodegradable Stents With Theragenerative Vascular Responses via Combined 3D Printing and Janus Nanoengineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 34, 19 June 2026.
This work introduces a theragenerative 3D‐printed biodegradable stent with Janus nanoarchitecture for spatially controlled vascular healing. A luminal tantalum ion–implanted surface accelerates endothelialization and hemocompatibility, while an abluminal sirolimus/poly‐L‐lactic acid–tantalum layer provides sustained drug release and suppresses smooth ...

Arterial Occlusion Caused by Intimal Flap Elevation After Arteriosclerosis Obliterans Stent Implantation: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Stent‐related dissection is a well‐recognized complication of endovascular intervention. However, acute arterial occlusion resulting from stent‐induced intimal flap displacement at a major bifurcation is rare and carries a high risk of limb‐threatening ischemia.

Popliteal artery entrapment syndrome

open access: yesInternational Journal of Surgery Case Reports, 2010
ABSTRACT Popliteal artery entrapment syndrome is a rare abnormality of the anatomical relationship between the popliteal artery and adjacent muscles or fibrous bands in the popliteal fossa. The following is a case report of a 19 year old female, in whom popliteal artery entrapment syndrome was diagnosed, and ...

Neonatal Wet Gangrene With Early Auto‐Amputation in a Resource‐Limited Setting With Incomplete Etiologic Workup: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Neonatal limb gangrene with auto‐amputation is rare and often idiopathic. Early recognition, prompt referral, and thorough etiologic workup—despite resource limitations—are critical. Wet gangrene requires broad‐spectrum antibiotics, wound care, and timely surgical amputation to preserve growth plates and allow future prosthesis fitting.
