International Journal of Communication Systems, Volume 32, Issue 15, October 2019., 2019 This work proposes to use the Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) bit in the outer IP headers present in the Iuh 3GPP IPSec‐enabled interfaces in order to notify backhaul congestion state to 3G/ 4G access networks. The solution is especially designed for wireless backhaul networks in rural areas.
