Combination of improved multibondic method and the Wang-Landau method

open access: yes, 2002
We propose a method for Monte Carlo simulation of statistical physical models with discretized energy. The method is based on several ideas including the cluster algorithm, the multicanonical Monte Carlo method and its acceleration proposed recently by ...

Scalable Task Planning via Large Language Models and Structured World Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work efficiently combines graph‐based world representations with the commonsense knowledge in Large Language Models to enhance planning techniques for the large‐scale environments that modern robots will need to face. Planning methods often struggle with computational intractability when solving task‐level problems in large‐scale environments ...

Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.

Hierarchical Design-Based Estimation in Stratified Multipurpose Surveys Estimación jerárquica basada en el diseño muestral para encuestas estratificadas multi-propósito

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Estadística, 2011
This paper considers the joint estimation of population totals for different variables of interest in multi-purpose surveys using stratified sampling designs.

Bayesian parameter estimation in dynamic population model via particle Markov chain Monte Carlo [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Ecology and Software, 2012
In nature, population dynamics are subject to multiple sources of stochasticity. State-space models (SSMs) provide an ideal framework for incorporating both environmental noises and measurement errors into dynamic population models.

The pharmacokinetics of intranasal droperidol in volunteers characterised via population modelling

open access: yesSAGE Open Medicine, 2018
Background: Droperidol is used parenterally to treat nausea and vomiting, migraine and acute behavioural disturbance. Intranasal use is not reported for droperidol.

CLinNET: An Interpretable and Uncertainty‐Aware Deep Learning Framework for Multi‐Modal Clinical Genomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Identifying disease‐causing genes in neurocognitive disorders remains challenging due to variants of uncertain significance. CLinNET employs dual‐branch neural networks integrating Reactome pathways and Gene Ontology terms to provide pathway‐level interpretability of genomic alterations.

Phase Transition in Sexual Reproduction and Biological Evolution

open access: yes, 2008
Using Monte Carlo model of biological evolution we have discovered that populations can switch between two different strategies of their genomes' evolution; Darwinian purifying selection and complementing the haplotypes. The first one is exploited in the

A Quest for the Mechanism of Ultrahigh Resolution SEM Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using Monte Carlo simulations with explicit definitions of SE1 and SE2 align with a cascade secondary electron production model, this work shows that the 3D nanostructure modulated SE2 emission enhances other than to reduce topographical contrast via a “miniature Faraday cup” effect.

A Spitzer IRAC Imaging Survey for T Dwarf Companions Around M, L, and T Dwarfs: Observations, Results, and Monte Carlo Population Analyses

open access: yes, 2011
We report observational techniques, results, and Monte Carlo population analyses from a Spitzer Infrared Array Camera imaging survey for substellar companions to 117 nearby M, L, and T dwarf systems (median distance of 10 pc, mass range of 0.6 to \sim0 ...
