Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Migratiebewegingen en dynamische processen in de Brusselse wijken

open access: yesBrussels Studies, 2016
This article is aimed at defining the role of migratory movements in the dynamics of the sociodemographic transformation of neighbourhoods in the Brussels-Capital Region, and at making some observations in terms of political implications.

Preliminary data on movements and health condition of the first radio-collared huemul (Hippocamelus bisulcus) population study in Argentina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Aun cuando solo quedan menos de 500 ejemplares de huemul patagonico (Hippocamelus bisulcus) en Argentina, existe escasa información sobre su ecología y dinámicas poblacionales.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

A simple video-based system for examining irregularities in very slow, smooth-pursuit eye movements in cancer patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Subjective observations made during routine examination of eye movement functions (orthoptic status) reveal that very slow, smooth-pursuit eye movements in cancer patients are irregular.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Mass movement study along BR-101 highway in Campos dos Goytacazes,RJ

open access: yesVértices, 2013
Mass movements are continuous natural phenomena and external dynamics, like weathering and erosion processes. The study presents an analysis of mass movements along the BR101 highway in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro.
