Study of mullite formation in porcelain stoneware applying isoconversional and IKP methods [PDF]
The growth process of mullite in a porcelain stoneware body has been studied under isoconversional, isokinetic relationship and invariant kinetic parameters. Activation energy for mullite crystallisation of over 589–628 kJ mol−1 and a Ln A over 50–59 min−

Mullite development on firing in porcelain stoneware bodies [PDF]
Microstructural evolution on heating was investigated in a reference industrial composition (50% kaolinitic clay, 40% feldspar and 10% quartz) of porcelain stoneware, fast fired at different temperatures (500–1400 °C). The evolution of mullite crystals, regarding shape and size progress, was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Fabricación de gres porcelánico empleando ceniza de tamo de arroz en sustitución del feldespato
In this research are presented the results of using rice straw ash (RSA) in low proportions as substitute of feldspar for manufacturing stoneware tiles. Specimens of semidry triaxial mixtures, where feldspar was substituted for different percentages (25 %

Process of pyroplastic shaping for special-purpose porcelain stoneware tiles [PDF]
A novel technique to manufacture special-purpose tiles (i.e. trim pieces, steps, skirting boards, etc.) has been recently developed on the basis of a pyroplastic shaping of porcelain stoneware tiles.

ABSTRACT This paper examines local taste practices in the era of “legitimate trade” when the trade in botanical (e.g., palm oil, palm kernel oil, and cocoa) and nonbotanical (e.g., ivory, textiles) commodities replaced the trade in enslaved Africans. Following the 1807 British abolition of the Atlantic trade in enslaved people, the locus of the trade ...

Fabrication of Novel Acid‐Resistant Ceramic With High Abrasion and Flexural Strength Resistance
ABSTRACT In this research, the innovative ceramic production process begins with the drying and grinding of raw materials to a fine powder, which is then sieved and dampened before being shaped into ceramic forms using a stainless‐steel mold. The material is pressed at 400 bars for 15 s to form a 10‐mm‐thick ceramic.

Zeolite-feldspar epiclastic rocks as flux in ceramic tile manufacturing [PDF]
Low-cost, naturally-occurring mixtures of feldspar and zeolite occurring in epiclastic rocks are promising substitutes for conventional quartz-feldspathic fluxes in ceramic bodies, since their fusibility and low hardness are expected to improve both ...

The Use of Ornamental Stone Waste (OSW) as Raw Material for Porcelain Ceramic Tiles Production
ABSTRACT Despite the relevant contribution of the ornamental stone industry to the international economy, the large volume of waste generated during the production process is one of the main problems faced by the sector. Currently, the ceramic industry has shown to be a powerful alternative for the use of these wastes.
