An insight into pyroplasticity of porcelain stoneware tiles

open access: yes, 2014
Pyroplasticity is active when sintering acts through viscous flow of an abundant amorphous phase, as typical of porcelain stoneware. It has become increasingly important in ceramic tile making with the development of large sizes, rectangular shapes, low thickness, and with use of vigorous fluxes and micronized fillers.

The porcelain tile dry colouring proces

open access: yes, 2008
The influence of the variables involved in the dry coloring process on the behavior of porcelain tile bodies and the properties of the fired product during different manufacturing stages was examined. The dry-colored spray-dried powders were prepared in which the spray-dried powder characteristics and pigment characteristic were modified.

Mechanical properties of concrete incorporating porcelain granite tiles as partial aggregate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Natural aggregate comprises about 75 % of the components of concrete by volume. The consumption of natural aggregate is high in producing concrete. Thus, making aggregate resources available for our country’s increasing needs will be an ongoing challenge.

Preparation end properties of fast-fired porcelain tiles containing natural chromite

open access: yes, 1993
Natural magnesium iron chromite can be used as a pigment for coloring high-sintered porcelain tiles. However, it is important to control the amount, firing time and temperature, and size distribution of the chromite powders to produce different color ...

Optical hazing in polished porcelain tiles: measuring, thus defining, controlling and defeating a defect

open access: yes, 2014
Optical hazing of expensive technical porcelain tiles is principally caused by isolated problems in the industrial polishing process that often occur unexpectedly.
