Porcine pleuropneumonia in Leon (Spain). I. Serological study on swine populations with pleuropneumonia

1989

Characterization of polymorphic mononuclear cell in porcine Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia.

Proceedings of the National Science Council, Republic of China. Part B, Life sciences, 1997
The polymorphic mononuclear cells, arranged in whorling or palisading pattern, were usually found in the lung of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae-infected pigs. In order to understand the origin and characteristics of these cells, specific-pathogen free pigs were intratracheally inoculated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae at a concentration of 5 x ...

Blood gas and hematological changes in experimental peracute porcine pleuropneumonia.

Canadian journal of veterinary research = Revue canadienne de recherche veterinaire, 1990
The effect of experimental, peracute, porcine pleuropneumonia on arterial blood gases, acid base status, the leukogram, and gross and microscopic lung structure was studied in nine growing pigs (mean weight +/- SD 10.6 +/- 2.0 kg). Pigs were inoculated intranasally with a virulent serotype 5 isolate of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, and all showed ...

PORCINE CONTAGIOUS PLEUROPNEUMONIA. I. EXPERIMENTAL TRANSMISSION, ETIOLOGY, AND PATHOLOGY.

The Journal of experimental medicine, 1996
An acute frequently rapidly fatal respiratory illness occurring as an epidemic disease in Argentine swine has been shown to have a bacterium of the genus Hemophilus as its causative agent. This organism, for which the name Hemophilus pleuropneumoniae is suggested, causes a singular, fulminating pleuropneumonia in experimental swine.
