Evaluating the Antiviral Efficacy of Encapsulated PKC Inhibitor BIM‐I against influenza A Virus Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores nanoparticle delivery of the protein kinase C inhibitor bisindolylmaleimide‐I (BIM‐I) to combat influenza A virus infections. Encapsulation in biodegradable PLGA nanoparticles improved safety while maintaining the compound's strong antiviral activity.

Detection of viral agents associated with Porcine Respiratory Disease Complex (PRDC) in pigs in North Kerala

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences
In pigs, stress factors such as pathogenic infections, environmental conditions, and various managemental practices can lead to a disease condition known as Porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC).

Mycoplasma suis infection in suckling pigs on a Belgian farm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Mycoplasma suis (formerly known as Eperythrozoon suis) is an epicellular bacterium that affects porcine red blood cells. M. suis infections occur worldwide and are associated with weakness and anemia in suckling and weaned pigs, and reproductive ...

Pathogenesis and antigenic characterization of a new East European subtype 3 porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus isolate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background: Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is divided into a European and North American genotype. East European PRRSV isolates have been found to be of the European genotype, but form different subtypes. In the present study,

Construction of a Multitissue Cell Atlas Reveals Cell‐Type‐Specific Regulation of Molecular and Complex Phenotypes in Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research conducts an in‐depth investigation of cell‐type‐specific regulatory mechanisms underlying molecular and complex phenotypes through integrative analysis of multitissue single‐nucleus RNA sequencing, bulk RNA‐seq, and genome‐wide association study (GWAS) data in pigs.

Pathogenicity Studies of NADC34-like Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus LNSY-GY and NADC30-like Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus GXGG-8011 in Piglets

open access: yesViruses, 2023
The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) has caused significant economic losses to the swine industry. The U.S., China, and Peru have reported NADC30-like or NADC34-like PRRSV-infected piglets, which have been identified as the ...

Serosurvey for viruses associated with reproductive failure in newly introduced gilts and in multiparous sows in Belgian sow herds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A serosurvey for viruses associated with reproductive disorders was conducted in 25 conventional Belgian farms. Serum antibody titers for porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2), porcine parvovirus ...

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus entry into the porcine macrophage

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2010
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) emerged in the late 1980s and rapidly became one of the most significant viral pathogens in the swine industry. In vivo, the virus shows a very narrow cell tropism and targets specific subsets of porcine macrophages.
