Consolidation Around Pore Pressure Meters

Journal of Applied Physics, 1953
Response of pore pressure meter on variations in loading conditions of surrounding soil is retarded by the necessity that pore water has to enter the instrument. This property is introduced as an instruments coefficient influencing the boundary conditions.

The Effects of Pore Pressure and Confining Pressure on Pore and Bulk Volume Compressibilities of Consolidated Sandstones

1985
A computer-controlled system has been devised that allows measurement of pore and bulk compressibilities of porous rocks over a full range of pore and confining pressures. Pore compressibilities have been measured for Bandera, Boise, and Berea sandstones.

Movement of Pore Water, and Abnormally High Pore Pressures

1981
The distinction between ground water and pore water may not be very logical, but it has the merit of distinguishing the readily-exploitable fresher pore water near the surface from the brackish to salty water in the pore spaces of most sedimentary rocks at greater depth.

Construction pore pressures in earthdams

1995
There is an analysis of construction pore water pressures in the compacted layers of four earthdams in South-West France. For three of the fills dissipation of pore pressures begins at, or even before, the end of construction. However in the fourth fill, which has partially slipped and is comprised of wet soils having a degree of saturation exceeding ...
