Relationship between pore fluid velocity distribution and pore size distribution
AIChE Journal, 2022AbstractThis study investigated the normalized velocity magnitude distribution and normalized pore volume distribution in different porous media with porosity between 13.5% and 85%, including sandstones, carbonates, synthetic silica, sphere packings and fiber scaffolds.

Pore size and pore-size distribution control of porous silica
Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 1995Abstract Porous silica is a unique matrix material for chemical sensors. In this paper, porous silica is prepared via the sol-gel technique. The porosity, pore size, pore shape and pore-size distribution can be controlled by catalysts and preparation conditions. A porosity as high as 60−70% can be reached. The pore size can be controlled in the range

Pore Size Distribution Studies
Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1971Pore-size distribution data for pores of diameters down to 0.016 μm were obtained by mercury porosimetry for a number of laboratory-prepared specimens. Statically-compacted specimens of a kaolinite, an illite, and Boston Blue Clay were evaluated, and changes in the pore-size distribution of the kaolinite were followed as a function of increasing amount

PORE-SIZE DISTRIBUTIONS AND INFILTRATION
Soil Science, 1986This paper presents a quantitative assessment of the dependence of infiltration rate on changes in pore-size distribution of soils. It summarizes concepts of pore-size distribution, displacement pressure head, and relative permeability in the context of a capillary model of soil.

Particle and pore size distributions of investments
Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 1986SummaryThe particle‐size distributions of investment powders and the pore‐size distributions of set‐fired investments were investigated by electrozone size analysis, and by mercury intrusion scanning porosimetry, respectively, for a number of different investments, representing all three types available, namely: the gypsum‐, phosphate‐ and silicate ...

From pore size distribution to an equivalent pore size of cement mortar
Materials and Structures, 1990An experimental and theoretical study has been performed with the aim of quantifying pore size distribution curves and correlating them with water and oxygen permeability. Twenty mortars have been investigated which contained Portland cement, blast-furnace slag cement and silica fume as a binder. Admixtures have been used as well.

Pore size distribution and capacitance in microporous carbons
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2012Modelling shows that the pore size distribution of microporous carbons determined by NLDFT only hides relatively small variations of the surface-related capacitance C/S between 0.7 and 1.3 nm. This suggests again that C/S in TEABF(4)-AN is 0.09 ± 0.01 F m(-2) for our typical carbons, including carbide-based samples.

Analysis of pore size distribution by 2H NMR
The Analyst, 2007The pore size distributions of four controlled pore glasses with mean diameters ranging from ca. 7.9 to 23.9 nm were analysed by measuring the (2)H NMR signals from the liquid fraction of confined benzene-d(6) and cyclohexane-d(12) as a function of temperature, in steps of ca. 0.1-1 K.

Pore Size Distributions in Clays
Clays and Clay Minerals, 1970AbstractA knowledge of the distribution of pore sizes in clay and soil bodies is a useful element in the microstructural characterization of such materials. Pore-size distributions and total porosity of a number of reference clays, naturally-occurring subsoils, and commercial clay samples prepared in various ways were determined by mercury porosimetry.

A Modified Pore Filling Isotherm with Application in Determination of Pore Size Distributions
Langmuir, 1994A modification of the Dubinin theory of volume filling is proposed here by combining it with a Langmuirian model at low pressures. The hybrid model satisfies the requirement of a Henry's law asymptote as well as predicts a limiting micropore size for this kind of filling.
