Pore-Water pressure of debris flows

Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, Part B: Hydrology, Oceans and Atmosphere, 2000
Abstract Until now, the pore water pressure, which is one of the stress constituents governing the flow characteristics of a steady, laminar debris flow, has been considered to be hydrostatic. We succeeded in measuring the pore water pressure distribution in solid-water phase flows with a rolling mill.

Computer Simulation of Pore-Water Pressure

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
An appropriate analysis of pore pressure models under irregular loading effects is provided. the model is based on liquefaction test with the constant amplitude loading and pore pressure model, based on the accumulated principle of residual pore pressure, using the differential method: superposition method and optimization method.

Pore Water Pressures in Unsaturated Soils

Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1965
A specially designed pressure plate apparatus was used to measure the residual negative pore water pressures in compacted samples of five different clays. Samples were prepared using both static and kneading compaction. Pore water pressures at the optimum water contents varied from –4 psi to –80 psi depending on the specific surface of the soil.

Pore water pressures in secondary consolidation

Rheologica Acta, 1974
This paper describes the work carried out to investigate the pore pressures occurring in secondary consolidation. A theoretical approach and an experimental technique was developed in order to conduct the study.

Pore-water pressure changes during soil liquefaction

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1976
An analytical procedure is presented for evaluating the general characteristics of pore-water pressure buildup and subsequent dissipation in sand deposits both during and following a period of earthquake shaking. It is shown that in layers of fine sand, excess hydrostatic pressures may persist for an hour or more after an earthquake.

Pore water pressure sensor for landslide prediction

2015 IEEE SENSORS, 2015
The paper presents a cost effective pore water pressure sensor (PWP) for landslide prediction, based on an integrated silicon pressure sensor. The sensor can be associated with a landslide sensor or can work independently. The aim of the landslide sensor is to detect the wetting condition and the tiny displacements of the ground.

Pore-Water Pressures Induced by Pile Driving

Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division, 1979
In a recent pile-load testing program carried out by Ontario Hydro, steel H-piles were driven near Pickering , Ontario, and later tested to determine their uplift capacity in connection with the design of tower foundation for a new transmission line.

Pore Water Pressure Response during Tsunami Loading

Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2020
AbstractTsunamis induce excess pore water pressure gradients in coastal sediment beds. The excess pore water pressure gradient induced during tsunami loading along with the shear stress caused by t...

Wireless Mid-height Pore Water Pressure Sensor

Geotechnical Testing Journal, 2022
Abstract The triaxial apparatus is one of the most widespread testing devices used by geotechnical laboratories for identifying parameters characterizing soil strength and stiffness behavior. In order to do so, the triaxial apparatus has the ability to measure a number of key parameters, among which the measurement of axial force, axial ...
