Poring Over Two-Pore Channel Pore Mutants [PDF]
Two-pore channels are members of the voltage-gated ion channel superfamily. They localise to the endolysosomal system and are likely targets for the Ca2+ mobilising messenger NAADP. In this brief review, we relate mutagenesis of the TPC pore to a recently published homology model and discuss how pore mutants are informing us of TPC function.

Aligned macrocycle pores in ultrathin films for accurate molecular sieving
Polymer membranes are widely used in separation processes including desalination1, organic solvent nanofiltration2,3 and crude oil fractionation4,5. Nevertheless, direct evidence of subnanometre pores and a feasible method of manipulating their size is ...

Gasdermin D pores are dynamically regulated by local phosphoinositide circuitry
Gasdermin D forms large, ~21 nm diameter pores in the plasma membrane to drive the cell death program pyroptosis. These pores are thought to be permanently open, and the resultant osmotic imbalance is thought to be highly damaging.

Using mordenite-rich tuff as a natural clay replacement in fired clay brick production [PDF]
This work examines the impact of mordenite-rich tuff (MT) on the technological properties of fired clay brick. These specimens were obtained by substituting clay with MT in various proportions (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 50, and 100 wt%).

Investigation on Properties of Reactive Powder Concrete with Automobile Grinding Steel Waste as Fine Aggregate [PDF]
High strength concrete is seldom used in normal construction practice due to its high cost and difficulties in achieving the desired design strength. This paper gives an insight on using waste material which has been disposed in lands as a sustainable ...

Gasdermin-D (GSDMD) in inflammasome-activated macrophages is cleaved by caspase-1 to generate N-GSDMD fragments. N-GSDMD then oligomerizes in the plasma membrane (PM) to form pores that increase membrane permeability, leading to pyroptosis and IL-1β ...

A stable aluminosilicate zeolite with intersecting three-dimensional extra-large pores
Description Extra-large and intersecting pores Thermally stable zeolites with large pores, such as zeolite Y with 12-membered rings, are used for converting large molecules from petroleum into smaller, more useful hydrocarbons. Lin et al.

The influence of hyperplasticizer on concrete
The paper presents the possibility of modeling of concrete properties in fresh and/or hardened state by applying hyperplasticizers type admixtures, based on a modified polycarboxyl ether polymer.
