Synthesis of anatase nanopowders by sol-gel method and influence of temperatures of calcination to their photocatalitic properties [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Sintering, 2015
The titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanopowders were produced by sol-gel technique from tetrabutyl titanate as a precursor, varying the temperature оf calcination (from 500 to 550°C with the step of 10 °C).

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Effect of nano yttria-stabilized zirconia on properties of Ni-20Cr composite coatings

open access: yesJournal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering, 2022
In the present work, 5 wt.% and 10 wt.% yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) nanoparticles were reinforced in Ni-20Cr powder and deposited on boiler tube steel using a high-velocity oxy-fuel spraying process. The effect of YSZ reinforcement on microhardness,

Using a Supramolecular Approach to Engineer Modular Hydrogel Platforms for Culturing Protoplasts – from General Tissue Engineering to Cellular Agriculture

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Using supramolecular monomers, various hydrogel culture systems were formulated to culture protoplasts; including 2D, 2.5D, and 3D hydrogels. Depending on the culture platform, bioactive functionalization led to protoplast enlargement (2D and 2.5D) or plasmolysis (3D). This work shows the potential to modularly engineer synthetic platforms for cellular
