Three-dimensional mesoscopic permeability of porous asphalt mixture
Construction and Building Materials, 2020Abstract This study aims to accurately analyze the three-dimensional (3-D) mesoscopic permeability of porous asphalt mixture. Industrial CT scanning and 3-D image reconstruction technology were used to analyze the mesoscopic void space in porous asphalt mixture. A mesoscopic permeability numerical model was built based on the Lattice Boltzmann Method

The Raveling Characteristic of Porous Asphalt Mixture
ICTE 2011, 2011In order to obtain a clearer understanding of the porous asphalt mixture (PAM) raveling characteristic, laboratory Cantabro tests were carried out to evaluate the raveling of long term aged and unaged PAM. The Cantabro test conditions consisted of standard condition, soaked condition, low temperature condition and freeze-thaw condition.

Permeability model of porous asphalt mixture
2011 International Conference on Electric Technology and Civil Engineering (ICETCE), 2011The void parameters such as void radius and void space are determined by image analysis of porous asphalt mixture sample slice through cosmos image analyzing software, so as to set the grid size and the initial inputs for the permeability model of the porous asphalt mixture. The method of Monte Carlo is used to build the permeability model.

Use of Reclaimed Asphalt in Porous Asphalt Mixtures: Laboratory and Field Evaluations
Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2015AbstractMaintenance and reconstruction of road pavements involve the production of huge amount of discarded material, such as reclaimed asphalt (RA), every year. As a consequence, issues related to RA stockpiles and disposals are dramatically increasing.

Abstract The adhesive and cohesive properties of asphalt, mastic, and mortar in the same porous asphalt (PA) mixture essentially control the durability and failure mechanism of PA mixtures. A typical PA mixture with three types of asphalt was investigated, and the corresponding asphalt, mastic, and mortar were also designed. Binder bond strength (BBS)

Performance Evaluation of Asphalt Rubber in Porous Asphalt-Concrete Mixtures
Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2011The purpose of this study was first to present the laboratory mix design results for porous asphalt concrete (PAC) mixtures blended with high-viscosity-graded cement (AR-80) and asphalt rubber (AR). In addition, the master curves of dynamic modulus were determined for both the unconfined and confined conditions to evaluate the rutting behavior of both ...
