Porous Carbon—Carbon Absorbers for Oil Products
Fibre Chemistry, 2016Environmental contamination by oil products was examined. A method for producing a composite for absorption of oil products was proposed. The composite properties were investigated.

Biomechanical investigations of bone‐porous carbon and porous metal interfaces
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1973AbstractThe mechanical strengths of four types of ingrown porous carbon and two types of porous metal bone implants were correlated with the type of osseous ingrowth into the porous interfaces. Intracortical cylinders were implanted into canine long bones and examined at 3, 6, and 12 weeks.

Porous carbon–carbon composite replicated from a natural fibre
Chemical Communications, 2005Highly porous carbon composites, suitable to be used as electrodes in electrochemical double layer capacitors, could be produced by pyrolysis of resorcinol-formaldehyde resins impregnated onto a natural fibre material (celullosic fabric), without additional template agents or special drying of the polymer gels.

Porous polymer carbons. II. Preparation and properties of porous poly(vinylidene chloride) carbons
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1975AbstractSuspension–polymerized copolymers of vinylidene chloride and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate have been converted into carbons by heating to 900°C. Poly(vinylidene chloride) homopolymer may melt on a first‐stage heating at ca. 200°C and consequently yields a fused 900°C carbon; restraining the first‐stage heating to slightly lower temperatures ...

Porous Properties of Carbon/Carbon Composite Xerogels
Materials Science Forum, 2018Carbon/carbon composite xerogels are prepared by a vacuum drying technique whereas a carbon cryogel is synthesized by a freeze drying technique to compare the effect of these drying methods at the selective synthesis condition. Resorcinol and formaldehyde are used to prepare a matrix phase and cotton fibers are acted as a disperse phase of the carbon ...
