Ceramic porous materials with catalytic properties

Perspektivnye Materialy, 2019
Undoubted leadership among catalytic materials for the purification of exhaust gases is occupied by composite cermets. Creation of catalytic materials for gas purification indicates that the main problem is partial or complete replacement of rare earth metals in their composition.

Porous ceramic materials as immediate root implants

Journal of Dentistry, 1984
Abstract The alveolar ridge may be preserved by using the natural roots as support for overdentures, by augmentation using autologous bone and by root implantation using various ceramic materials. The aim of this investigation was to provide more information about the tissue response to porous alumina and hydroxyapatite ceramic implants placed in ...

Characterization of Nigerian Clay as Porous Ceramic Material

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Porous ceramics were produced by compaction method of Nigerian clay and cassava starch. The samples were prepared by adding an amount from 5 to 30%wt of cassava starch into the clay and sintered at temperature of 900-1300°C. The influence of cassava starch content on the bulk density and apparent porosity was studied.

Synthesis of Macro Porous Ceramic Materials

2021
This chapter explored the synthesis method of macro porous ceramic by using the partial sintering, direct foaming, replica template and sacrificial template technique. The focus is to produce macro porosity in the ceramic for specific application purposes that required this porosity range. At first, fundamentals in each technique were discussed and the

Complex Material Properties of Porous Piezoelectric Ceramics

Ferroelectrics, 2015
Numerous techniques using complex material constants have been proposed to take into account losses in low-Q piezoelectrics and to overcome limitations in the IEEE Standard. Iterative methods provide a means to accurately determine the complex coefficients in poled piezoceramics from complex impedance resonance measurements.

Anisotropic porous ceramic material with hierarchical architecture for thermal insulation

Bioinspiration & Biomimetics, 2021
Abstract Porous ceramic materials are attractive candidates for thermal insulation. However, effective ways to develop porous ceramics with high mechanical and thermal insulation performances are still lacking. Herein, an anisotropic porous silica ceramic with hierarchical architecture, i.e. long-range aligned lamellar layers composed of

Processing of porous ceramics: Piezoelectric materials

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2006
The paper reviews processing techniques used to produce porous ceramics with tri-dimensionally interconnected porosity, in a wide range of pore volumes and pore size and distribution. Attention is focused on the development of porous electroceramics and especially piezoelectric PZT materials. The porosity can be introduced through dry or wet techniques.

Preparation and investigation of porous aluminosilicate ceramic materials

Glass Physics and Chemistry, 2008
The optimum conditions for the synthesis of macroporous aluminosilicate ceramic materials are chosen. The dependence of the total porosity of the ceramic materials on the initial components is established. The pore size distribution is investigated. The chemical durability of the ceramic materials is determined.
