An upscaling-based numerical simulation method for time-varying reservoir properties
Both field practices and laboratory experiments in mature, high water-cut oilfields have confirmed that long-term water flooding dynamically alters rock wettability and micro-pore structure, causing shifts in relative permeability curves and reservoir ...

Anomalous diffusion mediated by atom deposition into a porous substrate
Constant flux atom deposition into a porous medium is shown to generate a dense overlayer and a diffusion profile. Scaling analysis shows that the overlayer acts as a dynamic control for atomic diffusion in the porous substrate.

Lattice Boltzmann Model for Gas Flow through Tight Porous Media with Multiple Mechanisms
In the development of tight gas reservoirs, gas flow through porous media usually takes place deep underground with multiple mechanisms, including gas slippage and stress sensitivity of permeability and porosity.

Dynamics of osmosis in a porous medium [PDF]
We derive from kinetic theory, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics the minimal continuum-level equations governing the flow of a binary, non-electrolytic mixture in an isotropic porous medium with osmotic effects. For dilute mixtures, these equations are linear and in this limit provide a theoretical basis for the widely used semi-empirical

Porous Medium Equation with Nonlocal Pressure [PDF]
We provide a rather complete description of the results obtained so far on the nonlinear diffusion equation $u_t=\nabla\cdot (u^{m-1}\nabla (- )^{-s}u)$, which describes a flow through a porous medium driven by a nonlocal pressure. We consider constant parameters $m>1$ and $02$, and the asymptotic behavior of solutions when $N=1$. The cases $m = 1$

Equilibrium phase transitions in a porous medium [PDF]
Static critical phenomena of a three-dimensional Ising model confined in a porous medium made by spinodal decomposition have been studied using large-scale Monte Carlo simulations. We thus examine the influence of the geometry of Vycor-like materials on phase transitions.
