Reactive Carbide‐Based Synthesis and Microstructure of NASICON Sodium Metal All Solid‐State Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Sodium Metal All‐Solid State Batteries (Na‐ASSBs) are enabled by the synthesis of the solid state electrolyte, NASICON (Na1+xZr2SixP3‐xO12), using carbide‐based precursor compounds (ZrC and SiC); resulting in dense, pure, and mechanically improved microstructure.

Light emitting porous silicon diode based on a silicon/porous silicon heterojunction

Journal of Applied Physics, 1999
A new structure is proposed to improve the external quantum efficiency of porous silicon (PS) light emitting diodes (LED). It is based on a heterojunction between n-type doped silicon and PS. The heterojunction is formed due to the doping selectivity of the etching process used to form PS.

Porous Silicon Supercapacitors

2016
Continuous miniaturization of electronic devices for portable and wearable applications requires miniaturized and integrated energy storage solutions for which electrochemical double-layer capacitors, the so-called supercapacitors, are among the best candidates.

Passivated Luminescent Porous Silicon

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 2001
Freshly prepared porous silicon (PSi) surfaces have been modified with different organic molecules such as alkenes (1-decene, ethyl undecylenate) and nonconjugated dienes (1,7-octadiene) in a thermal process to yield organic monolayers covalently attached to the surface through Si-C bonds.

Photoactive Porous Silicon Nanopowder

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2013
Bulk processing of porous silicon nanoparticles (nSi) of 50-300 nm size and surface area of 25-230 m(2)/g has been developed using a combustion synthesis method. nSi exhibits consistent photoresponse to AM 1.5 simulated solar excitation. In confirmation of photoactivity, the films of nSi exhibit prompt bleaching following femtosecond laser pulse ...
